Much prob has to do with the name alone. Ask an old woman if she has ever heard of Remington, and she will reply 'of course'. Then ask the same about Mossberg.
The 590A1 is better. Now comes the task of seeing if it will fit up the arse.
Why not an Ithaca 37 or Browning BPS? The Ithaca is a sweet handling gun.
... but she may be referring to a sewing machine or an electric shaver

I love Ithacas...they're my favourite. But I have to admit, the ability to chuck rounds into the side port can come in handy in a match.
You actually can withe Ithaca, it might a little slower though.
nah, I'm pretty sure you cannot get any shells into the side port on an Ithaca![]()
I have seen pics of a couple with a port cut into the receiver. One was a BPS though.
Say what?
...sounds like Too Much Information....![]()
Yesem. Thick shafts and corn cob ends kinda do it for me.
You're over sharing again, inside voice, outside voice.
They're both good, the Mossberg is just a little better, a shell lifter that stays up when loading, [ ask why some guy's cut a slot in the lifter on the 870's.] ,the safety, easy, forward is fire, good for left or right handed shooting, and by that I mean shooting weak or off handed around barriers. Remmington guys will replace their safety with a jumbo head one,if it's so good ,why?I think that older 870's have smoother actions then any mossberg ,but I've never noticed while shooting either one.
The best thing about the 870 is the availability of 12" and14" barrels.
Now, if someone would only make a 15" barrel for the 590 it would make the 870 less attractive in that aspect.
I agree for the 15'' for the 590. As for the 12-14 for the 870s; who, would you say makes the best barrels...available in Canada?

Probably Dlask. Don't own any (yet) but I've read lots of good things. bit pricey though
Dlask is the best quality, but really heavy. Remington is similar to Dlask in quality but the chamber was a little rougher on mine than the Dlask. The chinese barrels are actually just fine if you are willing to polish the chamber, which I do to any new barrel anyways. The China barrels are also the thinnest.
I have no experience with the NEA barrels but do a search and form your own opinions before buying....
