Hello group,

Would you please provide me with your opinion on the CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW?

If you feel there is a production handgun that is better for IPSC, feel free to comment :)

Thank you,

TDM

Get one if you are planning to go Production Class. I am happy with my 85 Combat. Should I decide to get another 9mm for Production Class, definitely, this will be my choice.

Love mine. I'm sure there are better. I'm positive there are well worse. Probably the most comfortable pistol I have. I have no regrets and neither will you. Go for it and never look back - it's not like you can only have 1 . . . ;)

The CZ Shadow is a great gun for IPSC production class as it was built for this purpose in mind but don't think for a second that it make you a better shooter. Accuracy is pretty much the same as any other combat pistol ie:p226, Glock, Beretta etc. Most people think they are so accurate because of the ease of being able to to hit your target due to the trigger pull. Very noob friendly. Get what pistol suits you. It all comes down to the shooter. My best match to date has still been shot with my Sig.

You can't go wrong in choosing a CZ Shadow. If you find the stock grips a little 'fat' like I do, finding thinner grips are no problem. My very, very close second choice is the the CZ 85C (combat). I actually prefer the lines of the 85 over the Shadow so much so I have been thinking of trading my Shadow for the 85 Combat.

it will be the only 9mm you will ever need or want. all other guns in it's class will disappoint you after for accuracy and trigger pull and built quality.

It's an excellent gun. It didn't get to the top of the pile in Production based on it's results in the bikini contest.

However, with your last sentance as the bench mark, I'm willing to put it head to head with the Grand Power K100 Target or X-Calibur.

Anyone fire the .45 ACP version on this handgun? Is it essentially the King of .45 ACP too? Might be a follow-up purchase if I like the 9mm Shadow :)

Thanks,

TDM

Absolutely great pistol to shoot, I was getting awesome groups with it at 25 and even 50 yards.

My only gripe tho is it the grip is really slim feeling, a change of grips could likely easily fix this issue for me but it shoots amazing as is.

I have always been curious of the K100s in how they shoot. I have held them but the Tupperware seemed not quite refined. Saw a post recently of the newer ones having broken take down / trigger guard lever and cracked frames. Might be an odd lemon though. Trigger feels much better on the Shadow (compared to STI badged GP6)
