Due to some unfortunate tax time/vacation booking troubles I had to sell my customized M9. That's all taken care of now and in a week or so I'm in a position to replace it. I don't know if I want to go back to Beretta, may use this experience to go down a new path. Tell me your faves and why. Pics are good. Old or new, unique or common, big or small, custom or stock. I'm looking for ideas and I'm drawing a blank. Only parameters are:
-must be 9mm (1000's of 9mm to shoot)
-price doesn't matter
-must be available in Canada (or importable)
-no prohibs
-no CZ75's (the Volvo of pistols)
-no M&P 9's (they're trying to be Glocks, I'm trying to give a crap, neither is working out.)

Thanks

Grand Power K100 Target.

The ergonomics are great.
The recoil is tame.
The trigger is awesome.
The price is shockingly low for what you get.

Yes, I'm biased.

If I wasn't already invested in Glocks with mags and holsters and everything, I'd be looking at the PPQ.

9mm Glocks are the Honda Civics of pistols...I think the PPQ MIGHT turn out to be the Acura. Basically the same deal...but nicer. They're still pretty new and I get way too much utility out of Glocks to worry about getting dozens of new mags and new holsters and so on. But still...the trigger on the PPQ...

Other than that I would just buy another 9mm Glock.

Although...

Not sure if you follow Todd Green at Pistol-Training.com...

He's been running a 9mm 1911 for this year's test pistol. I never thought I would say it, but if money wasn't an object on a 9mm, would I consider a high-end 9mm 1911? Maybe, now. I would probably rather go for a 4.25" slide than a 5 in 9mm, though. I think he is running a 5 and that's not really optimal for the 9mm IMO. Of course all my 1911 experience is with .45s and the guys I cut my teeth on 1911s with would pistol whip me if they knew I said the words "9mm 1911", so I am not the best person to ask. Still...I would consider it.

Some love the P30. My dislike of HK triggers is on record and that's what would hold me back there. Otherwise it's a good pistol.

It is ####ing HILARIOUS that you called the CZ75 "the Volvo of pistols". That joke really has teeth, if you ask me.

I have the following in 9mm:
Walther P1, it is what it is, the grand daddy of all modern handguns. shoots well enough, little finicky, needs warm loads.
Glock 22, with a 40-9 conversion barrel from Lone Wolf: Its a Glock.....
HK USP 9: Built like a tank, ###y, shoots extremely well, accurate and pricey to match.
Walther P99: ###y.... ergonomic, accurate and nice trigger.
RIA 1911 9mm: 1911 platform with its customisable content. needs warm loads again.
Had a Beretta 92FS, and a CZ 75 (pre B).
All are nice in their own way, all make it out to the range.

S&W M&P 9...I'm kinda in the same situation, looking for a new 9mm. I've read lots of good things about the M&P, read lots about the crappy trigger too but that can be fixed with some APEX parts. I cant get past the looks of the Glock, I'm deciding on this or myb an HK p30l I've always shot well with .45 cal HK's

Walther PPQ.

Outshoots Glock and HK due to fantastic trigger. Since parts come from Germany, you avoid the 'gun buy crisis' in the USA and Wolverine Supplies can order in parts for you.

Sig P226 or Walther PPQ. For a 1911 style 9mm you could look at the STI Spartan, STI Trojan and S&W Pro series (if you don't care about external extractors on your 1911).
