The cost of an upper varies depending on the model. Top of the line CMMG is about $600.00 with a stainless bolt. Check with Questar or Armseast who have had them. There are other brands too you might check out. The advantage is that the rifling twist is optimal for the .22 bullet which looses accuracy in a 1-7 or 1-9 standard AR barrel. Also you avoid fouling the barrel and gas system in your AR which is a cleaning consideration as the .22 cartridge tends to be dirty. I've configured my .22 upper almost identically to my .223. So a caliber switch is easy without re zeroing which would likely be necessary with a conversion.thx peeps ! maybe a stainless kit will be fine, how much are these uppers going for >?
hmm both website seem to be sold out, and questar even removed the stainless kit and also their cmmg up from the websiteany ideas ?
