Hickok45 M&P9 5" Pro Series

That part where he unloaded on the gong (forget the distance) was crazy! Having a range in his backyard probably helps him practice more often. :)

I think it's 85 yds. Pretty good review of the M&P Pro Series coming from a Glock guy.

85 yards, that's impressive, he was consistently hitting it, and with fast follow up shots!

I liked his review, but wished the pro trigger hadn't been replaced with the apex trigger. Would have like to hear his review on the stock pro trigger.

if you think that is impressive, he has some older videos of him hitting his 230 yard gong with pistols. Jaw dropped.

theres one of them.

That's the original M&P trigger but I think the Apex Comp AEK Enhancement kit was installed in the gun.

Doesn't the M&P Pro come with a lighter/different trigger than the regular M&P though? Although I think I have read it is still nowhere near as good as an Apex.

I have a Pro Series and the trigger is done in the S&W Performance Centre and has a PC sear. Trigger pull is said to be 4-4.5 lbs. The Apex Comp AEK kit improves on the stock trigger.

I am a M&P fan boy but I have to say the Pro Series are not "Performance Centre" guns. They are just assembled like the full size guns. The Pro Series have a different sear and a different striker block and a slightly lighter trigger spring. S&W are great marketers.

Both my Pros had sub 5# triggers. Both now have lighter and smoother triggers than stock due to the Apex USB and lighter trigger springs. The Apex sear gives me a slightly faster reset. Tom Yost suggested I polish the crown on the guns to improve accuracy which I did.

Like the Glock you can set up the gun the way you want simply by replacing parts.

The pro trigger is decent still need's work but not as bad as the regular M&P. but I still think stock trigger vs stock tripper the sheild has the best.

Thats just my nickel tho.

I agree and left a comment to that affect on his page..

In Canada we are lucky just to be able to see the gun let alone having accessories that don't ship to Canada.

Is this a "Brand new" Pro 9 for 2013 or a refinement of an existing gun?
He said it was a "Performance Centre" gun?

I am interested in reviews of the new C.O.R.E model with the ability to easily mount red dots. Looks like a winner if you have a compatible micro red dot.

Bob, I didn't say they were Performance Centre guns. I said the trigger is done in the S&W Performance Centre and has a PC sear. Trigger pull is said to be 4-4.5 lbs..

Mine was .4.5lbs. Most of the improvement the Apex gives the Pro Trigger lies in the USB from Apex. It is domed far more than the stock striker block giving you a smoother trigger. If I had to do it all over again I think I would be just as happy with only the USB installed. The Apex sear reduces the reset time but I don't think I have the talent to take advantage of the shorter reset. The Competition Kit gets you down to a 2.5# - 3# trigger if you need it.
