I have one of these on order and I am curious to know if it comes with a hard case or just the usual foam and cardboard box? I have checked out some unboxing videos of bottom end Cynergy's and they do not come with a hard case. I will be thoroughly disappointed at this price point if it does not have a nice case when my AL391 was less than half the price and came with one.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you're not satisfied, call Browning direct, talk to them and voice your concerns. If they are a serious competitive company they will most likely calm your concerns.

If you aren't fully committed, take a look at a 725 Sporting. It'll knock about $1000 of of the price for a similar gun. The action is different, but the new 725 is closer to a cynergy than the citori's of old. Lower receiver height, mechanical triggers, better balance. If you haven't handled one yet, try to find one to shoulder. It still won't come with a hard case, but an extra $1000 buys a hard case and quite a few flats to run through it.

I sold both my 391 and 400 with Kick Off and regret it. As far as what I paid, it is no where close to the MRP, however, still significantly more than either of the Berettas.

A whole lot more than a 725 sporting too. Aside from the styling of the cynergy, I'd bet that the guts of the receiver are the same in both guns. The 725 also has a 'sort of' inflex recoil pad. Not as dramatic as the cynergy, but effective none the less.

I just got my Cynergy and have not had it long enough to give it a serious work out, I have only shot one flat through it. However, comparing a semi to an O/U is like apples and oranges. The 391 had very little recoil while the 400 with kickoff had even less. Both the 391 and 400 can be shot all day without any fatigue at all. I did have some occasional hang ups of the shells getting caught against the feed ramp and not wanting to load, this was only after I cleaned the guns and was not common. Oddly, both Berettas performed better when they were dirty rather than clean. The Cynergy, has a bit less recoil compared to other O/U due to the thick butt pad and the trigger reset time is very quick/crisp break. Obviously a quicker reset time for an O/U compared to a semi. The Beretta actions were both very smooth out of the box while the Cynergy hinge was a bit stiff. Not my first Browning and it will break in over time. Both guns balanced/point very well. I will put more cases through the Cynergy, I do like it but time will tell if I prefer the new gun over the old or the other way around. These are just my experiences so far, others may vary.
