Tavor accuracy

The bolt hold works like this. Empty magazine, replace and hit the button. If your just looking to have the bolt stay open stick an empty mag in.... If you must use the gun in an incorrect fashion you can stick the butt of the rifle against your chest, pull the charging handle and work the bolt release with spare hand.

Thank you, you proved my point, if you don't have a empty mag, to lock the bolt back on a Tavor is awkward as ####. For a gun supposivily known for its ergos and being ambi this area was a major over sight, the Tavor is pretty damn reliable though and the need to lock the bolt manually is probably minor in a 'tactical' situation. Still a pain and a negitive in my books.

This is stupid, he isn't doing it wrong. Yes the easy way is as you have suggested, but there are a lot of situations where a person isn't carrying a spare empty mag just so they can work the bolt hold open, and they shouldn't have too...........Also, during competition for sure there are times this just wouldn't be an option.

I can't think of ever having an issue with it. IMHO this is an operator issue. If you can't work the gun you need to buy a different one.

You could do a search. Tavor in black rifles with 3 years and newer and all the mysteries shall be revealed. My tavor is a bit better than 2 moa accurate. I have many hero groups at 1.75 inch.

The only reason we need to have the bolt held open is because the stupid 5 round mags we have don't always seat on a closed bolt. But the gun wasn't designed for magazines that are used improperly and against original design.

No rifle is perfect for everybody. I really (really!) like my Tavor. It is awkward getting the bolt to hold open with no mag, but I've never had to do that other than when messing around pre-cleaning or something. I have had good results with accuracy but I'm not using it as a bench rifle or with more than 4x optics so I'm not looking for super tight groups (though I've never felt it wasn't capable of that). The trigger is heavy compared to most AR's, but maybe we'll see aftermarket trigger options in the future.

Other shooters may put more weight on those issues and be happier with a Swiss Arms. To each their own.

Just noticed the chamber in the tavor is larger than that in the Swiss Arms, this will definitely affect accuracy. regardless the Tavor eats the SAN alive while pounding through the jungle and its plenty accurate and flat out reliable. Its a gem and when used what it was designed for is very hard to beat.
