Nothing on the tavor is blued... But whatever.
The bolt hold works like this. Empty magazine, replace and hit the button. If your just looking to have the bolt stay open stick an empty mag in.... If you must use the gun in an incorrect fashion you can stick the butt of the rifle against your chest, pull the charging handle and work the bolt release with spare hand.
Thank you, you proved my point, if you don't have a empty mag, to lock the bolt back on a Tavor is awkward as ####. For a gun supposivily known for its ergos and being ambi this area was a major over sight, the Tavor is pretty damn reliable though and the need to lock the bolt manually is probably minor in a 'tactical' situation. Still a pain and a negitive in my books.
bingo!!!the only reason we need to have the bolt held open is because the stupid 5 round mags we have don't always seat on a closed bolt. But the gun wasn't designed for magazines that are used improperly and against original design.
