Question about Cowboy Shooting - Indian Targets?

I am a total noob to the range. My first visit was today and while touring the grounds I noticed that the cowboy shooting range had buffalo, cowboy and "indian" metal targets. Is this the norm? If so, Is shooting at caricatures of a particular race really necessary? I do realize that cowboys could be any race, but at the same time....:confused:

I did a bit of research and found that people get into the mindset of the period usually dressing up like cowboys at the competitions...If I dress up like a native person and compete in one of these events do I only shoot at the cowboy and buffalo targets? (joking)

Our Indian buddies shoot at the Cowboy targets and they never complain. Try not to read more into this than is necessary.

This Whole sport is for fun and enjoyment, so let's keep it that way.

If you insist so much on being politically correct, you should stop calling them indians, I heard some find it offensive ;)

I wasn't trying to imply that people weren't having fun, clearly they are. Kind of hard not to read anything into it when there are targets of only one specific racial group. What if the targets were "Ukranians", "blacks" or "Jews"?

Well I am aboriginal in ancestry and I have no problem with those targets in the context of the sport.

You on the other hand have me wondering?? With a name like "Higain"????? Banned returnee???? Troll????

I am not suggesting you should be uncomfortable, i just wasnt aware of any other ethnicity that is used for plinking. To each his own. Have fun shooting your aboriginal targets!
 
On that note, the cardboard targets are BROWN!!! And B-27 targets are BLACK! Oh, the field day the human rights commission will have when I break the news to them!

Generally when people argue, they argue by comparing the facts that they have. The person whose facts are more compelling wins the argument. An ignorant person does not know any facts.
