I have a Klinsky stock for a #4 Brno 22 target rifle. One of the receiver screws/bolt is to short for this stock. It's only holding by about 1 thread. I'm trying to find a Metric # 6 x 1 standard thread about 1 3/4" long. I've checked three gunsmiths but no luck. Is there a mail order place anyone know of or anyone have a spare ?

Go to your local fastener supply store an buy one. You're looking for an M6x1, in whatever length your screw is. Screw length is determined by the length of the shaft, not including the head.

Flathead screw are measured over all length, sockethead capscrews and such are measured by the length of the shaft.

Fair enough. Still, Industrial supply store. Gunsmith's won't have the large selection of random metric screws for every action. Try machine shops as well if you can't find an industrial supplier.

I think I'll just cut it in half and weld a section in. I could waste more time running around than it would take to do it. Thanks for your suggestions.

At one time Canadian Tire had a decent supply of auto metric fasteners.
Different head configurations too.
If you have one nearby, check them out.
See if the auto department offers the oddities too as well as the hardware/tools department.
