After trying to decide between Windham Weaponary and the Core15, I bought the Core15. The price was $1,099, after taxes and the $10 flat rate (express) shipping it came to $1,164.99. Thanks so much to Wanstalls for the super fast service. I bought this at 10pm on the holiday Good Friday after the Calgary gun show. It showed up April 8th at 1pm, 9 and a half-ish days later at my door!
I own a Colt AR15 and I compare all other AR15s to it. I wanted to buy a flat top to mount my Troy Alpha rail (from Reliable Gun) and my Griffen muzzel break (from Armtac). I contemplated building one, but this was way more cost effective and I wouldn't have to wait! I'm very impressed with the quality, fit, and finish of the Core15.
Notes: listed as a full Mil Spec riffle, 16" barrel, enhanced trigger guard, M4 feed ramps, milled chevrons on the front of the mag well. Muzzle break is not pinned and wielded, butt stock nut is not staked. M16 bolt carrier group (more metal, reference pic down below) The one thing that did surprise me is that the gas key on the bolt is not staked. I'll keep an eye on it.
Wanstalls tossed in a pack of 25 paper targets.
The scope is temporary until I get my BUIS and Red dot in. Primary use: 3 gun match.
My plan was to have two matching setups, and it's finally complete!
- AR15 .223 with the Troy Alpha Rail & 1911 .45 ACP
- Ruger 10/22 with the Troy T-22 Sport (Alpha Rail) and my GSG 1911 .22lr
M16/AR15 bolt comparison:
Just in case someone was wondering the difference. (pic borrowed from another post. Thanks)
