After trying to decide between Windham Weaponary and the Core15, I bought the Core15. The price was $1,099, after taxes and the $10 flat rate (express) shipping it came to $1,164.99. Thanks so much to Wanstalls for the super fast service. I bought this at 10pm on the holiday Good Friday after the Calgary gun show. It showed up April 8th at 1pm, 9 and a half-ish days later at my door!

I own a Colt AR15 and I compare all other AR15s to it. I wanted to buy a flat top to mount my Troy Alpha rail (from Reliable Gun) and my Griffen muzzel break (from Armtac). I contemplated building one, but this was way more cost effective and I wouldn't have to wait! I'm very impressed with the quality, fit, and finish of the Core15.

Notes: listed as a full Mil Spec riffle, 16" barrel, enhanced trigger guard, M4 feed ramps, milled chevrons on the front of the mag well. Muzzle break is not pinned and wielded, butt stock nut is not staked. M16 bolt carrier group (more metal, reference pic down below) The one thing that did surprise me is that the gas key on the bolt is not staked. I'll keep an eye on it.

Wanstalls tossed in a pack of 25 paper targets. :D The scope is temporary until I get my BUIS and Red dot in. Primary use: 3 gun match.

My plan was to have two matching setups, and it's finally complete!
- AR15 .223 with the Troy Alpha Rail & 1911 .45 ACP
- Ruger 10/22 with the Troy T-22 Sport (Alpha Rail) and my GSG 1911 .22lr

M16/AR15 bolt comparison:
Just in case someone was wondering the difference. (pic borrowed from another post. Thanks)

Good lookin rifle. I bought a Core15 in 300Blackout. The bolt carrier is staked. Not as well as my Windham. But it is staked. The Troy alpha rail is exactly what I want to add to it also

Strange... I bought the same model CORE15 from Wanstalls back in January and my gas key is well staked... Mine runs like a dream... Guys at the range with ARs costing two to three times have been put to shame by it! Have fun!

my CORE 15 was missing the front roll pin in the A2 sight post. thus my gas tube was flopping around and caused my AR to only cycle once in awhile. took me awhile to figure that out. BUT my gas key is staked properly and well staked

It's no M16 Carrier if there is no staking.

It is a full auto carrier with no staking. Low end parts. I would be worried about the build quality of the rest of the rifle if I saw that.

Sarge, congrats on your purchase. I was actually looking at the Core 15 MOE M4 Piston model at Wanstalls as my 1st ever AR purchase. I'm new to the AR scene and don't know too much about brands and what to look for and I was just wondering what you thought of the Core 15 product in comparison with other "bigger" named products?

I think it's great. The fit and finish is well done. I only have a hundred rounds through it so far. No failures of any kind. Once I pass a couple thousand rounds, I'll be able give it a better assessment and report back here. Again, for the price of $1,099 for the base model, You won't be disappointing.

how did the CORE run? getting one in a week and I'm pretty stoked

what type of ammo were you using

The Core15 has been flawless. I'm using Federal 55 grain and Winchester 55 grain at the moment. I haven't had any issues yet. I really love this riffle and now I'm debating on selling my Colt to fund another project.

as with mine. I'm over 1000 rounds in the past month with MFS and WWB 55gr. flawless since my gas tube fix. just gets dirty with the cheap ammo
