Building an 11.5" AR, What muzzle device would YOU put on?

An A2 does well with a 20" barrel and for that role it fills the bill nicely. They progressively degrade in both their ability to act as a flash suppressor and a compensator the shorter the barrel gets.
There are better options out there - much better.


So with the A2 on an 11.5" barrel you get the best of all worlds - annoying blast, check - lots of flash, check - less muzzle control than other devices, check.

In a recent low-light course, my 12.5 with an A2 was one of the least flashy rifles on the course. The only darker gun was a 16" with a Vortex, IIRC.

Blast was not severe - a 16" gun with a typical comp or brake is much, much worse.

I put a Griffon Armaments M4SDII Compensator on my 11.5". Got it from Armtac. Really good muzzle rise control, hardly any jump at all. Concussion isn't too bad. Best part is it doesn't blow a ton of debris in the air during modified/urban prone. 21 Century Gunfighter had a massive series fof videos comparing muzzle devices
 
So....I received my Diamondhead rail system from OST today....here are some pics. I'm wondering if the extended bottom portion of the rail would interfere/conflict with any types of muzzle devices with bottom or side porting.....any advice/comments would be appreciated.

Also, the diamondhead rail looks and feels awesome!

Yes I do. My 2 cats think its the best green and red laser ever. ( call up Target Sports, ask for Paul {store manager} about obtaining one.)

And they do let me use the DBAL for IPSC runs @ my club. im called a cheater from time to time however.

I would definatley get an AGW Linear Comp...... it would flush up to the bottom of the HG....
 
I'd just go birdcage A2 style, but thats just me.
It hasnt been out performed by a whole lot else out there from what I've seen around, and it does the job.

If I could QD an actual suppressor though, I would go with the surefire QD. However, I'm not putting another 8" of fake useless can on my rifle. I just cant justify the extra cost, length, and weight for something that provides no service. Maybe in time we will have the opportunity to be a little quieter and more polite.

I'm just waiting on OST to get the BCM mod 0 for my 11.5, running a 51T blackout FH right now and it sure does what it is supposed to do extremely well but I'd like some compensentaion... I find it way to jumpy for my taste.
