After a couple months of tinkering I got the old girl finished and ready to fire.
The last step was done Thursday night, I made a firing pin so the old girl could be rendered operable again.
Here's some pics of the finished product. Thankyou to all that helped me out with info and resto techniques.
The stock was in rough shape with a break right through under the receiver and basically I had to break the stock in 2 so I could clean an epoxy the area with greater certainty that it would hold. I started by cleaning the stock, then I put it into a plastic bag with a cup full of water and left it in the sun for several days. The stock rehydrated quite nicely and then I applied 10 coats of linseed oil.
Here's a picture of the break, it's the line running over top of the front lock screw on the left of the picture. I spent many nights scratching my head thinking about the best way to fix the stock. I ended up expoxying it together and then inserting pins from the bottom. It's rock solid now, when I finished I twisted the stock as hard as I could and I couldn't break it so I'm guessing its good!
The bore was a sewer pipe when I got it. I put it in an electrolysis tank and let it work it's magic.
Here's a pic of when I got it and then after the first 4 hour treatment.
And the final product, it's not perfect but there's lots of shine now!!
I enjoyed this project so much that I think I may have to do another, perhaps a martini or Zulu that is in need of some love!
