illegal to use butlers creek 25 rounds mag at the range

I do not see anything in the forum's rules that would warrant a mandatory language of communication, and thus your post... If I am mistaken, please correct me.

It's not so much a rule as a courtesy, the discussion up to that point took place in english, posting in french makes it a lot harder for non-francophones to follow.

Ask them for the document that says you cannot use the 25-rd magazine on your 10/22. Your 10/22 is non-restricted, and as long as your OAL is not less than 26", you can even use a 100-rd drum mag. Not to be confused with Ruger Charger which uses the same magazine, but pinned to 10-rds, you should be good to go.

If they insists as posted, ask them to put your violation in writing and contact your CFO to report this range for non-compliance with regulations.

If it's under that just means it's restricted and you can still slap that 100 rounder on it and go... The charger pistol is the reason the BDX magazines aren't allowed because it was designed and manufactured for both regardless of what firearm it works in. So it made the factory magazines prohibited if they're 25 how ever the other aftermarket magazines are made and designed for the 10/22 rifle only so they're ok. A company only has to design and manfacture it for 1 type of firearm and if it works in other ones o well that's fine.

There are ranges in BC were they have rules kind of like this no rapid fire don't want to anoey the neighbors with all the noise don't want people shooting the target stands ect (it gets expensive if they have to be replaced often)

First and foremost... ask for it in writing. Maybe it somebody just stirring the pot.

Then tell them its not a LAW, but a club rule (If actually exists) and they should stop pushing it as LAW as it is disinformation.

And lastly. Move to another range. It seems pretty ridiculous,

It all made sense once I saw you were from Quebec. Seriously, move to AB. Although I hope this isnt a sign of things to come at every range in the future...

I always want to move out but my recently open business just hold me off but still interesting to know anyway. Once I be able to collect my investment then kiss my b*tt, good bye Quebec.

How is the restaurant business in AB like Sushi and such ? that's my trade.
What part of AB should I look for since I'm more like Asian ? a bit warm weather should be nice, wife like warm weather.
And How is the real estate in AB ? easy to look for a house once I'm there or I should look a ahead before my arrival.

Thanks.

Plenty of houses for sale... They aren't cheap here.
Sushi does wll in Calgary, lots of competition though.
Asians are a plenty in Calgary, you'll be fine here.

It sounds like one idiots idea, as to what he feels the rule should be. Then again you are in the most anti gun province in Canada, so it isn't really a surprise, that there are such idiots in a position of authority.

Move to the west you will do fine with Asian food it is well welcomed a bonus is no French signs required here. Another reason I left the West Island in 1978.Dam that is bringing back French nightmares.Lots of crown land to shoot on also.

Long story short.. i got told today by the owner and our "officiel de tir" at the range that it is illegal to use my butlers creek mag loaded with more than 1 round at 50meters.. and i could use them with 10 rounds max at the 30meters (the only spot on the pistol side of the range that you can shoot a rifle on the table)

Its a range around the south shore of Montreal named "Club de tir l'Acadie"

at 50m with my Ruger 10/22 legally on the rifle part of the range: i can load 1 round in the mag, shoot it, remove the mag, reload 1 round MAX in the mag, shoot it.. rince and repeat
at 30m with my Ruger 10/22 legally on the pistol side of the range: i can load 10 round in the mag (out of 25), shoot it, remove the mag, reload another 10 rounds MAX, shoot it.. rince and repeat

Is it normal / real [law wise in canada] ? Never heard that one before
Is it a decision of the owner to proceed that way or are every range like that ? ( i ask because i was using fully loaded 25 rounds butlers creek at 50meter for 6 months at that club before being told that today)

I want to respect the rules and all but if its an in-house rule i may have to shop for another range!

Once again, all your input are welcome
Thank you very much.

My best advice to you is to move to Canada! :)
