Just an anecdote. I have been going down to the Syracuse Gun show the last 5 or 6 years in a row. We always stay in the same hotel in Cicero, it is right beside a Cracker Barrel and Gander Mountain. Pretty much a perfect set up. Anyway, Gander Mountain always has a pile of ammo to browse. If I recall correctly, 3 full aisles. Well, not anymore. When we walked into the store last weekend, I went right to the ammo section to check out the prices. I looked, and looked again. Where is the rifle and pistol ammo. Not seeing anything centrefire, rimfire. Well, after looking around I found it. At the end of one of the three rows, about 20 boxes of centrefire ammo. Some 270, 30-30 IIRC, just a fwe boxes of basics. I couldn't believe it. What was there I could walk out with in one large bag. Before, there was 3 full aisles, and I mean full. Now, those aisles are all packed with shotgun ammunition.
At the show itself, ammo was flying off tables, and higher prices. There were line ups up some of the big ammo dealer tables, and guys walking out with cases. Never seen that before. Pretty crazy.
Anyway, just wanted to share.
