Got into my first .338LM and man am I excited, opened the case about an hour ago and damn she's a beast of a rifle. Savage 110 BA unfired and just begging to go out tonight. Came with a Trijicon 5-20x50 but I swapped it out right away for my Siii because of the limited elevation adjustment. Only have some cheap rounds($36 for 10) to run thru it tonight courtesy of Wantstalls, 30 rounds of S&B 250gr but they will atleast go bang. Pointless post, like a said just excited, going out tonight at 5, s*****y pics from here at work but this thing is huge so I had to keep it in the back room.

Good choice, you love shooting it. Virtually no recoil due to the weight of the rifle. Beware, have good hearing protection cause it's LOUD!

Hot looking rig!

Please post pics of your target I have the same rifle but in a HS precision stock (110FCP HS) would like to know if the BA is more accurate.

tonight is going to be more of a basic site in at increasing yardage, more or less just to get the feel and have some fun. I will be heading out for a full day of shooting on Sunday and will be take some pictures of targets for you then.

Of course accuracy will be up to myself and wether the BA likes this particular round but for my knowledge at what distance and gr bullet are you shooting?

PS, I actually really like the 110 in the HS stock this one just happened upon me

Nice choice. Have fun with it. I really like shooting mine. You will have to start re-loading if you're gonna shoot that thing with any regularity.

Thanks buddy, yes re loading is a goal of mine and luckily through this site I have become friends with a member who has been re loading for years and has all of the .338 equipment already.

lets do it up, I would love to get behind the JAE stock to compare it to the AICS, I have a 700 5r 300 win mag en route right now in a AICS chassis but always had a deep love for the JAE stock.

Congratz on the new boomstick. I keep looking at the Savage Long Range Hunter and thinking, you know, I could afford that in a little bit. I probably won't get it but man do I want it.

Well I got to run some rounds thru it last night and I have to say that is by far one of the easiest shooting bolt guns I have in my safe. I dont know if I was just over expecting having never shot .338 or if the package Savage has put together is just that good but felt recoil was almost not even there. I could easily spot my hits and shoot this beauty all day long. After watching some low quality cell phone video after getting home you can definetly see that the factory muzzle brake and stock really do there job, muzzle jump wasnt even noticably in the video. I love this new rifle. :)
