Why do people want a banana style mag

i use em on my sks so that its a detachable mag, you cant have a "loaded" (empty chamber rounds in the mag shouldnt be loaded but the law thinks it is) fire arm on or in a vehicle. this way it can ride behind the seat with the action open i can insert a mag and relase the bolt, ready to go

In the case of the 858? Full sized, riveted 5/30 surplus mags are also cheaper and easier to find than their shortened counterparts. I suspect the same is true of AR mags, not counting the benefit os the LAR-15, but...I don't have one yet.

Those long 30 rounders get caught on everything, the steering sheel and the window opening of the truck. Oh wait, no loaded guns in a vehicle. Split the difference and make some nice 15 round mags please.

It seems for some reason you're stubborn on accusing everybody of trying to look badass.

So i'll try to explain it to you a second time, in case my post #15 wasn't clear somehow:

standard 5/30 rounds are almost half the price of the 5-rounders. They are way easier to find as well.

So yeah, while you think you're a genius for wanting smaller mags, you're spending more money and having a harder time locating mags then the rest of us.

But hey, if thats what it takes for you to feel smarter than all these "badasses" with banana mags, be my guest.

Just a hint though, joke's on you.
 
Well, I will admit that the rifle does look better with a 5/30. The short mag just makes it look off to me.
But with that said, the 5/30's are definitely cheaper. So from an economical standpoint it makes sense.
 
Who cares really? The whole 5 round mag cap is a stupid useless Law anyway and maybe one of these day's we can get it tossed. The only people who follow it anyway are us Law abidding gun owners, criminals won't.
 
My F350 comes with two 70L fuel tanks. I'm going to remove both and put a single 20L tank in because it's faster and cheaper to fill up.
