When you can buy a norc 1911 and 1000 rounds of ammo for $499, or an sks and 1440 for $400, and order in 1600 rnds of cci in a cool box for $129 at ctc as I did, etc etc, where is the problem? In the states, yes, up here, not so much ! We arn't that big a group in Canada so it doesn't take a lot of ammo compared to the states to feed us, even if we hoard a bit! There are a gaggle of new gun and ammo buyers in the U.S. from fear and whatnot but here is different no big influx of new shooters!

I am not sure why some companies are charging close to 300 for 1200 to 1320 of 7.62x39 steel core as this ammo isn't sold in the US anyways. From what I understand they have to sell lead core. In my opinion we are grossly overpaying for 60 year old surplus that still exists by the trillions of rounds.

Americans are getting their newly manufactured russian made 7.62x39 non corrosive at prices similar to our 60 year old corrosive as hell stuff. Something does not add up... Not pointing fingers at any dealers as we are paying the higher prices. Also seems odd there is no other choice of .308 other than the chicom... PMC didn't go out of business so why can't we get any of that at a decent price or the Sellier and Bellot. Just my two cents.

Well since all this scare started I'm now up to over 10,000 rounds of .22lr.

Between that and the 3 crates of 7.62 x 39, and all my reloading supplies I am not worried.

As others have mentioned though, I am not seeing any real shortages.

Mostly just ####### dealers promoting the fear and looking for excuses to jack up prices if you ask me!

Ammo shortage is just another front that Odumbo is using to force gun control. He takes taxpayer money, buys all ammo thru contracts for ALL agencies, including the military, who is restocking after war.

There was a bill being sponsored by some Republicans to stop the Feds from cornering the market and buying 20 years worth of supply for every agency.
In effect gun control.

So when all manufacturers go balls to the wall on producing those orders, there's not much normal public ammo being made.

Well after doing a pretty serious inventory count I could be accused of being a hoarder however never meant to be, just bought every time I found a good deal. I do admit I did buy primers with a shortage in mind so now have 27,000 but didn't include any opened bricks.

I have come to the point that I don't really care if it is corrosive when firing it out of a gun such as a CZ/CSA as they are just too easy to clean. It can still be had for relatively cheap prices too. Sure, I would love to have non corrosive ammo instead, but it is best to just stock up when you still can.

Believe me at 499.00 plus tax for 1600 yellow box .223 the profit margin must be very very good. I bought a case for 400.00 Tax INCLUDED.

I think this is a VERY interesting development.

I think the $420/crate price is just hold over of old inventory ($0.2625/round)

Once that's cleared out, all that will be left is the $500 stuff (at $0.3125/round) .

Once that's clears out, all that will be left is the $400/1000 crates of Federal - most of which is held over from before CanAm flooded the market with Nork Yellow Box (last November) ($0.40/round).

Once that clears out what's left? Only AMERICAN MADE ammo that was manufactured AFTER the Obama re-election crisis.

I bought 10 cases of the stuff for $420. I think one-two eyars from now, if I go WTS - Nork Yellow Box $640, unopened crate I'll have no problem finding buyers. I wish I bought 10 more cases... Maybe I'll be wrong... but I paid cash for it, and I have very low debt levels and a high savings so this ammo won't be coming out from my warm, living hands any time soon.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
With the proliferation of this thread I figured that I would check the local ammo supply at the only place in town besides Wal-Mart (which always had a small selection of ammo) to buy ammo which is Canadian Tire, well their shelves are packed full of ammo and lots of it, some of you guys must have bad hoarders in your area because there is absolutely no shortage here.

According to CanadaAmmo much earlier, it was expected to run dry by the end of this year. Given the frenzy, I would guess that it will be well before the end. After that new issue priced higher than Federal is what Norinco will have to offer.
It has taken 20 years to use up what china was left holding when the US stopped buying.

How much Norc 5.56 ammo is out there available to be brought into Canada? Is it even possible to dry out that supply?

I was at a range in Florida. They were sold out of .22lr, and they wouldn't sell me 9mm (saving it for members, I guess).

But I had more fun shooting 44mag and 10mm anyway :)

Do you live in a city or small town?

Perhaps a road trip is in order :)

Wait until all these idiots stop hoarding ammo and you will be able to buy it cheaper than it was before the madness.

Your making the assumption those of us SAVING ammo are over extending ourselves with debt to buy it. I think most of us who are buying in volume are paying cash for it (at least I am).

When I first herd this story I started loading up on .22, .308, and .all shotgun unfortunately I haven't been able to unload any of it due to the weather ok maybe a bit but so far haven't even dented my stash and always notice my local canadian tire always has lots of stck so I'm not to worried.....for now.
