I think CanadaAmmo should start stocking new sights for the Norinco 1911, it seems to be the first thing people want to upgrade. I think a "Norinco sight upgrade set" would be a good seller with all these newly sold 1911s.

Looking into it briefly, it seems many people have had to have gunsmiths put on new sights, as you need to alter the slide to accommodate some new sights. There are sights available that do not require milling, I could be wrong on this as this is my first 1911 purchase.

So for this very sound business advice, I only require a "Norinco sight upgrade set" sent to me at no charge, or at least a notification when you do start to stock them so that I can buy one before they are sold out, as I have no doubt they will be a hot ticket item.

The sights on the sport version are good sights.3 white dot sights what more do you need?

@8bithero thanks for posting the video. looking forward to getting mine. no plans to modify it at all. just shoot it...not even sure why anyone would want to mod it. it's kind of like buying a dodge neon and putting spinner rims on it. :)

Dehorning/Deburring seems straight forward, but is trigger job easy to mess up? What kind of tools do I need to do a trigger job?

Brownelles sells a kit, it includes a jig and the files/stones you will need. Last I checked the kit was $300.....

It is very easy to screw up the trigger on your 1911 if you don't know what you are doing, even if you have the proper tools!

Considering a de-horn and trigger job only costs $150 at most reputable g-smiths, it's a tough sell for me to buy the kit.......

Now if the trigger is good out of the box, then de-horning is easy!

trigger is pretty easy to mess up if you dont know what you are doing, things like replacing the springs related to parts of the trigger, are not too bad, some people get file happy and get a potentially dangerous gun.

Im not sure about your previous metal/gun smithing experience, but if you dont already have the tools or know what to use already from previous metal working experience, im not sure starting with a trigger job is the best way, although it is a cheap gun to break.

thats a pretty good run down of what you will need, make sure you are very comfortable with the working parts, you do not want to have things go wrong,

breaking your safety, or sear, is hugely dangerous.

I do my own, but I have metal working background with stuff in the .001 tolerances, so I get to save like 50-100$, since im already invested in tools, not a huge deal,

a good gunsmith will do it for 100-150$ like someone above said, which is often the best way to go

I did see the video, and it seems like there are too many things that can go wrong so that's why I asked here. The guy from Dlask said he will do a trigger job for $80 and I've been considering it. However, he suggested I should also get a new hammer/sear and trigger since the Norinco ones are not very good. I think its like 160 bucks total if I get the new parts plus trigger job. Not sure if its worth the price.

Authentic wwII worn look!

All I intend to do with mine is dehorn, and possibly CERAKOTE. I understand that

the "issue" finish is less than stellar. We'll see.

I am thinking It might look good as a well worn colt 1911! Thats probably what the chinese were going for! Like a pair of jeans that are already half worn out!

I guess this is what we do while waiting for our latest purchases!
By the way I only have taken apart a tt33 in the pistol side of things and do not remember a guide rod, where are they, what do they do (guide I know) and why do people want a full length as opposed to a half length??
Cheers Bob

...Yet another very good idea.

I would like my "pair" to look as identical as possible.

(And, of course, function well!)

After these are sold-out, Norinco will have sold more 1911's in Canada, than all other companies combined, in 2013.

Take that, Norc haters.
