Just keep saying to yourself: A hundred and seventy bucks...a hundred and seventy bucks...:(

Yeah I understand that it I can expect "Norinco rough" but this looks like a forging/casting defect that could affect the integrity of the gun. I would show it to Canam and get a replacement I'm sure they would agree. I would not shoot this particular gun.

How much are the hogue wraparounds? How do they feel? Better grip and such!

I think they are awesome and I have them on my Ruger SR1911 as well and they were somewhere between $20 and $25. I have a big hand so the finger grooves are handy for a little increased volume. Also, the enhanced grip from the rubber is excellent.

Hogue wraparounds are good for medium+ size hands. Had them on a GSG 1911 but gf found them too big with tiny hands so back to factory grips.

Do you think a Zombie really cares what the gun looks like. As long as (the gun) blows its head off who cares....Just saying. Hell I have paid more for a hooker that looks worse than any of the pictures and Im sure I do not have to put on a rubber glove to shoot it.

hahahhahahahaa... don't know what to say

Yes it was an extremely good deal.

However I am upset canam did not provide better pictures (big enough to actually see) and they should have mentioned they have finish issues as for some people that would be a deciding factor on whether or not they purchased it.

If anyone is still on the fence regarding the finish of the 1911? CANAM offers the commander version wih the 1000 rounds for 599$.
Just saying the option is there!
Also I agree some detailed pictures or some mention on the shape of the pistols would have been helpful. The bottom line is that it is still cheaper than dirt!!

Exactly I wouldn't pay any money for the gun shown in the pictures. However to be fair we've only seen that picture I'm sure they're all not like that. I'm not even concerned that much about finish problems with that gun looks like there's material missing maybe I'm wrong

They are shipped in its air tight, heavily greased, long term storage state. the bag was rather opaque so the sender would not have the ability to check each gun. I'm thinking. I'm wondering if the exchanged gun would be any better? a broken grip while a pain in the ass is probably not that big of a deal because I'm thinking I would want something better. but what if I send it back and I get the same kind of unchecked seconds. I think I will have to call John and find out. I am getting another delivery from them.

Shades of the Canadammo Norinco M213 buy from four years ago:

- was a "one-time" deal;
- was super cheap;
- lots of "Norinco is crap" stuff on a thread of epic length;
- guys sat on the fence for weeks until it was too late, and they then begged Canadammo to get more;
- entrepeneurs offered various upgrades tailored to the M213 and did well; and
- any time someone wanted to sell one, the "CGN EE Cops" declared that they weren't allowed to sell them for more than $99.

History will repeat itself.

If you mean we'll get 99$ 1911s, I don't oppose history repeating itself.

So, did only 1 person have an issue with abnormally bad (for norinco) finish? I think some folks are second guessing themselves on this and getting scared, $170. for a 1911 .45 I would say most folks already figured in on new grips and a few add ons or replacement parts , as is the norm for norcs. if something looks really bad or dangerous CanAm said they would take care of it, quit panicking till you get your gun,,,then, don't panick! Some folks might shouldn't oughta buy deals like this as it may cause a stress heart attack or something, possibly hissyfits and the like!

do those have the norinco markings?

1911A1 .45 on the slide and the serial number on the frame that’s all.

Regarding my pics. I’m not adverse to the blemish on the slide provided its not structural or will be problematic for the shooter, namely me. Can anyone more informed or educated on this chime in. preferably canam. While I appreciate Canam and the return policy I would far rather keep the offending firearm who might be a diamond in the rough and one day grow up big and strong like her cousin the Beautiful 1911 Sport model that I got from CanAm last month.

Also my experience may be isolated and a 'one of'. so lets not all get our nickers in a bunch -
A simple "may contain nuts' or 'scuff marks' or what ever may be added to this batch of 15 year old (once slated for a military contract and probably rejected ) 1911 deal

I agree with that. Selling something dirt cheap does not justify not providing proper description.
