Went to local gun store last week, as I'm looking for a norinco m305. I want the long barrel but can't find any, so I looked at the shorty they have an noticed that the 5/20 mag was not in there. He said it only comes with the 5/5 mag. I asked if they had the 5/20 mags and he replayed "oh yes we do at 45$ a mag".... Is this now common practice to take parts out of the box and sell them ???? Kinda annoying .....

459.00 for the m305, 40.00 for the mag.... SFRC has it on for 449.99.
With both mags! Guess I know were I'm buying from!
Just thought that was strange kinda like buying the car
But haveing to pay for the doors they took off!!!

Sigh. Are we back to the car analogies again?

It's like charging extra for floor mats and mud flaps. Some dealers charge, some throw them in for 'free'. If you don't like the deal and store XYZ, buy it somewhere else.

Jeeze you guys. Just ASK THEM before you buy!!!!! Why would you proactively avoid a company because they sell things for a different price? If you don't like the deal, just go elsewhere. Why is that so hard?

It was more the part of you get the box and you know it's missing, just a little thing but it sure did change my mind about getting from them..... I'm not saying avoid them, just was wondering why?? That's all...

Because they can't give the buyer a modicum of respect for knowing what the firearm comes with from the manufacturer. Missing mag, cleaning kit, sling. It is douchebag move and shows good insight as to whom you are dealing with. It's not a purchase package option. It is skimming what is yours and upselling it to you.

Why?

So they can make a bit more money..plain and simple. Some do it some don't..its all up to the buyer to choose where he will spend his $$.
