Mine arrived today, two days earlier then CanPar said.

I haven't cleaned it yet but it looks great so far, nice enough bluing, no cracked grips (though I will be replacing them anyways.. by the way "Authentic Norinco grips" going on to EE. $170, don't settle for broken grips or knockoffs get the real deal.)

It is sooo sticky, couldn't possibly be grease or cosmoline. After careful analysis I have determined it could only be, and I am relatively certain about this, the Norinco employee who packed it had just eaten, with his bare hands, pancakes with syrup and then he proceeded to fondle my gun for at least 45 minutes. This is the only plausible explanation for how sticky it is.

I must say though, I am very pleased so far! Thanks CanAm!

Got mine today. No time to 'de-goo' it yet (which, oddly, I really enjoy doing), but it looks great so far. A 1911 .45 for the same price as an M93 Woodsman? I think I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on another purchase.
For this price, I could buy 4 of them and make a very tiny, very intimidating set of coffee table legs out of them!
Way to go, Can Am. I waited a month and I don't give a damn!
Looking forward to waiting another month for the next one.
(BTW, please don't rag on me about my Norinco 45's. I've got an S&W 645 Stainless that's easily twice the gun these are...at four to five times the price.)

Looking at all the pics is getting me more excited for mine. I'm hoping to be in the "looks great, I'm happy" category.
Thanks to everyone who posted pics, it helps ease the waiting pain.

Can't get enough of the pics. Please consider putting them up and, if possible with some stripped. They may look the same to you but us 'waiters' love to ogle. I'd like to see the guts of these things, especially the machining.

It's what keeps me sustained while waiting.....

I finally had a chance to clean her up and man, this gun is in excellent condition. Only a few MINOR scratches on the frame. I am absolutely not unhappy.

To clean it, I soaked disassembled the gun and put all the parts in boiling water. Then took them out, wiped them down. Anything with moving parts or places I couldnt get to I sprayed down with brake clean. Dried it all again and sprayed it down with gun cleaner/lube and wiped it down again. I wanted to make sure it was well coated and wouldnt normally use this much oil.

The gun is definitely a bit notchy to run empty. But it functions flawlessly. The mags are only stiff going in because they need to compress the spring. They literally shoot out when hit the release. Not sure how they'll feel loaded. Im going to run some snap caps through it and see how things go.

I did NOT like the stock grips so I put a fab defence grip/magwell on it. Looks great and makes loading the mag very fast. BUT... the mags have a very thin bottom plate and the magwell extends past the bottom of the frame so im going to need something on the bottom of the mags to extend them a bit.

Heres the pics of it cleaned up. Only took about an hour.

....going on 16 days since processing and 21 since placing the order......still patiently waiting......
I'm sitting at 21 days since placing and paying for order - status has remained unchanged - Received and not yet processed
did you know that you can start transfer of ownership as a buyer as well? if you do. have the seller provide their business license number, serial number of the item. then fax this application to your CFO..the result is that they will contact the seller to confirm ...
the seller must provide this information when request by the CFO .. this will help .. MAKE sure you have all your information correct and upto date :HFU:.. happy shooting;) so you know what to do now

yeah its kind of hilarious considering canam is just about a 45minute drive for me from north delta.

I will start off by thanking Canada Ammo, very pleased:) light trigger pull, nice plastic grips and excellent finish for $175. Those two magazines will eat through that crate of .45
