Went to the range this evening, and my GSG .22lr seized up after a few rounds. There are only about 1000 rds through it in total, with the first 500 being exclusively Stingers. I broke it down at the range, and a few more experienced shooters looked at it for me. Behind the spring on the guide rod, is a washer and a rubber buffer? disk..... this disk is squished out of shape and flattened/enlarged, so that the slide will not move past it. If i remove the rubber disk, gun functions fine..... but I'm guessing its there for a reason. Anyone have any ideas? How do I fix this? Firearm has functioned flawlessly to this point and I'm otherwise completely happy with it so far. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ps: who handles warranty on gsg in canada?

It happens, a couple companies make replacements out of a more durable material, Dlask is one of them. This won't be covered by warranty.

Don't know where you're located but if your in the Niagara region I can give you a couple of aftermarket ones.

What have you been cleaning it with? Had mine for a couple of years now and haven't had that problem. Shoot it lots too.

mine dissolved after shooting and not cleaning within 2000 rounds. go to hardware store and find a similar rubber washer, will work better

Thanks for all the help you guys, there's a reason people keep telling me to "ask CGN, they know everything" and I'm beginning to think its true. I'll email BlueLine as my first resort, if can't get anything worked there, I'll have to check the other options listed.

09Outlander, I'm in Labrador City, Newfoundland - if I can't locate one, I'll get back to you on the aftermarket ones, but I'll gladly pay you for them and the shipping. Thanks for the offer.

Hello Flyrrad,
I will check the emails when I get to the office and have a new guide rod buffer dropped in Canada Post for you this week.

Cheers,
Ryan

Armco recommends this washer; check your local hardware store :)

Just received an email from Blue-Line, they are sending out a new rod/spring/buffer thingee to replace the one I have. It turns out to be a warrantied item.

As far as I'm concerned, THIS is how professionals do things - I don't know how many times I can say thank you, but THANK YOU.

Wow, I'm surprised/happy they covered it under warranty and yes they are great to deal with.

Seems like there's restructuring going on between the main business and the warranty part of the business? Wondering if someone from the Warranty-side of things could please contact me, still haven't received the parts to fix the issue....

I think I must have got a lemon, or I'm just too darn hard on my GSG! At the range a couple days ago, pistol goes BOOM!! Something Flies downrange.... I pull the trigger, nothing.... I check the front, and I'm missing half my thingee that holds in the spring/rod/bushing (sorry, I'm really bad at part names) .... sent an email to BlueLine, they gave me a phone number to call,
F A N T A S T I C service once again. I cannot say enough good things about the guy I spoke with, sorry cannot recall the name, but absolutley exceptional service.

For those of you playing the home game, the part is called the barrel bushing.

Just for s**** and giggles, I replaced my guide rod buffer with a rubber washer from Home Depot to test that theory out. It performed flawlessly.
