Dlask FA BCG NiB

I would also like to know. it does not fit into the gas tube..... the phosphate one barely fits and fouled up in 50 shots and wouldnt fit anymore

what drill bit to use? sandpaper? what is the fix for the key (not talking about staking)

I bought one of the first ones. Anyone know where or how I could get the gas key fixed up so it will actually work if I put in one of my AR15s?

I sent mine back after hearing about the problems, especially the bolts coming apart. The worst part is the person you email/text is very unprofessional. They basically blamed CGN for all the returns when I spoke to them.

It comes down to safety for me, firearms can fail and buying a part with known failures is just asking for an accident.

I don't think he's talking about the staking. I think he's talking about the tight fit of the key to the gas tube.

Ya I am not talking about the staking. The key to the gas tube is the problem. I need it bored out and I don't have the tools or skill to do it. And I don't know if sending it back to Dlask is a good idea after reading about other peoples dealings with them.

I got 106 rounds through mine before the ICE Arms bolt calved......

I have emailed. Called and texted Richard @ ICE. Not a SINGLE bit of communication from him.

I gave up and called Joe at Dlask. He is handling it.......

I would bet that there are a heck of a lot more NEA bolts out there than there are ICE ARMS bolts out there and I have read about or been told about failures with bolts from both makers..... The biggest difference, that I can see, is the NEA bolts sheared lugs. The ICE bolts remove large pieces of bolt body as well..... One is still safe to use, the other isn't....

The BCG I received from ICE Arms, didn't make it through the first range session. According to Joe, they have experienced a HIGH % of failures with the ICE Arms bolts.......

I guess I shall have to see what the warranty claim gets me..... But I bet I never hear from Richard......

Nuts. Have pics?

My nib bcg had an out of spec gas key so I returned it to Dlask. It is getting replaced with a USA made NiB bcg. Josef is very easy to deal with, just give him a shout and he will get you sorted out.

Well, what I did, was a lubed up the gas key, and then I shot it, after 40 rounds it worked smoothly. However, I don't think mine was as tight as others.

Other things you could try, is measure, your gas tube and see if you could find a drill bit the same size.
Drilling out the gas key, I don't know if I like that idea, mess is up and you have a bad seal.

Another trick is to rig a piece of sandpaper as the end of a dowel. Given the size of the gas key, maybe a 17cal jag will hold a piece, spin it in there with a drill to lap it.

What I would probably do, is remove my gas tube, put one end of it in a drill, and then spin it while holding a piece of sandpaper on the end that mates with the gas key. Lap it down till it fits tight with the gas key.
Tight but not smooth. Fit it so that you still have to kind of force it, but it's loose enough you can get it on and off, then fire the rifle till it breaks in.

I'm worried that even after you fit it, something else will go wrong. Some people who have reported the BCG fitting fine, and have been using it, have suffered bolt failures.

Are you sure that works? The gas tube isn’t exactly straight is it?

I spoke to someone on Tuesday and was told a new batch of BCG's (including mine) were being picked up that day in the US, and would be shipping the next day (Wednesday). He indicated that he thinks the quality on these is much better and they should be "perfect". we shall see. I still haven't received any shipping info or tracking....

Not sure, it's what I would try. The end you'd be holding would be moving around yeah, but your hand could move with it.
I don't think it would need much to fit so it should be too exhaustive a process.

High quality Canadian made products never comes cheap.
Example: PGWDTi, ATRS
High Fidelity audio: Bryston, MOON, Classe, Totem, Oracle turntable
Even Canada Goose.
These are all example of high quality Canadian makes. None of these are cheap.
Machining the same. There are excellent machine shop in Canada too. But you need to know where to get them.

My experience with that company was extremely negative. Will never call them again. I told some of you guys back in 2010.

Just buy the LMT from Questar before they all gone.

I have one the BCG works and operates as a BCG should , my DD cycles great and feels smoother. Actually seems well built ,I would recommend to anyone customer service is lacking though but I am sure they are working on it !
