Best AR-15

Of your list, I have KAC SR15 , LMT @ Noveke

First question is are you looking for a hard use type AR that you are going to shoot the ever living crap out of ( ie you want a CHF barrel ) ? , or are you looking for something to shoot hard but want to put tiny holes in paper

Hard Use ARs

As some one already mentioned, the KAC SR15 is the height of AR-15 design . The reason is the E3 bolt . Lots of information out there so I won't bore everyone with details. Do not get hung up on the proprietary design . Not going to get into a internet argument on people who disagree with this ...all I will say is if you understand the advantages of E3 bolt over the conventional you would not give it a second though

Nothing extraordinary with a Colt , with the exception of the much vaulted Dimeco ( Colt Canada ) CHF barrels. The KAC SR15 has the same barrel

Other hard use choices that are on your list is the Noveske N4 barrel guns . The pictures above are N4 and SR15. I bought both to see which I would like better and sell one... but ended up with both ! The N4 barrel is a FN made to M249 spec ( machine gun barrel with heavier chrome lining )

Most of these style Noveskes are built on Vltor VIS monolithic upper

If you want a conventional style upper, I would go with one of the two above . If you want a quick change barrel ( makes caliber conversion much easier ) the LMT MRP is the way to go ( available with piston or DI ) is awesome.

Chrome lined Barrels are made my Rock Creek ...claim to fame is they are overbored before CL so no need for etching after. Supposedly more accurate. I haven't notice that though

Conclusion : if you want this type of AR, then buy a KAC SR15 ( ambi lower may or may not be of interest ) . Not because I'm a KAC fan, but the E3 bolt is huge design improvement over conventional. A close second would be Noveske N4

If you want quick change then LMT MRP

Stainless Match Type Barrels

I have built on Noveske stainless , Krieger, Shilen ( from Rainier arms ) , WOA , Satern and others

I can say that the Noveske stainless barrels are simply outstanding . They are Pac Nor blanks ( steel spec by Noveske turned by Pac Nor) made on Pac Nor button rifling equipment

If find that for AR use, this is as good as the single point cut rifle barrels from Satern / Kreiger

Anyone who says 14.5 " , 10.5" etc cannot be as accurate has not shot a rifle with a short Noveske stainless barrel.

So, from your list, if you want an stupid accurate gun, then go for a Noveske with a 16" length. The SPR length / profile is relatively heavy ( a brick compared to KAC SR15 or Noveske N4 ) and you won't miss the velocity

No this is a poll to decide on what choices the OP has decided he would purchase...

It didn't start out that way. Maybe you missed the post by the OP where he seemed suprised not many picked Sig because he had ordered a Sig and was waiting for it. When rivet78 made his comment it was apparent that the OP had already made his choice.

How available are KAC parts? Proprietary is ok for me if I see it as an improvement and the parts are available.

They are flowing into the country more and more, so zero concern....also you can always drop in another standard BCG if my memory is correct...I can't wait to get my upper...

Nope, the 25 mm chain gun you are referring to was developed by McDonnell Douglas now manufactured by Alliant Techsystem. :p

Nope lol....I watch the Military Channel like it's going outs style.....many times I've heard that it features a 20/30mm Bushmaster Cannon...100% .....unless the Military Channel is lying to me, or doesn't have their facts straight.

Not really. Read the whole thread again for the many times. I ordered but no down payment so I can always change my mind. You are such a troll lol. Have a zilt contribution to this thread other than just trying to look wise (emphasize the "trying to look).

To non trolls, I was reading about LMT and I like the idea you can switch between piston and DI. Any idea who has 14.5" in stock? Probably no body lol

It's not that they are lying to you, or that they don't have their facts straight. It's that you aren't understanding what they are saying.

"Bushmaster" is the name of the gun, like "Warthog" is the name of the A10.

It's not built by the people who make Bushmaster ARs, just like the A10 isn't built by the people who make Warthog Ale.

So much fail, so much fail. f:P:

Sorry for my "zilt contribution" (whatever the hell that means), but I wish you luck in choosing an AR.

LOL@ all the norc fan boys in this thread saying the same thing they do in every thread, "my gun is the best because its cheap therefore I can use all the money I saved for blah blah blah".

OP, buy a quality american AR, not a chinese clone...

now for the list

1 knights
2 noveske
3 pws
4 lmt
5 sig

Trying to utilize a poll to validate a purchase decision is ultimately futile. And if we're talking Sig, are we talking Sig USA or Sig Germany? (because there is a difference) I'm going to echo the comment above: "So much fail, so much fail..."

I just assumed he was referring to the US guns....

I guess the real question should be is what is Bacardi budget and what does he intend to do with his AR and how many he wants to own to figure out what is "Best Gun" for him to consider buying...

:agree:
Like I always say "Buy whatever you are comfortable spending, the only person cares what gun you buy is that guy in his underwear looking back at you through the mirror".

I am not using this poll to validate my decision, and also what decision? I have not put any down payment to the order (SIG usa) hence why I am here trying to get more information about others AR-15 that I have on my list. LOL Few of you guys are more dramatic then women in women only forums.
The point of this thread is to get input of what other people think about those AR-15 on the list that I consider. Instead, few of you guys started to analyzing me and the point of me posting the thread, and blah blah blah. I am like geez seriously.....worst then my aunt. I hope none of you are having that time of the month:rolleyes:

I want to get one for paper punching, CQB clinics, and for just in case....zombie outbreaks lol.
My budget is up to $2500 or maybe a bit more.

Hah!

The only place you can take that AR is to a restricted range, and pretty much all you can do is punch holes in paper with the thing. Therefore, I don't see why you have to sink gobs of money into it. Tier 1, 2, and 3 means nothing in Canada, unless you're a LEO going into harm's way with the AR. As for zombie outbreaks, I saw on Walking Dead that a crossbow worked really, really good!!

Buy a Norc, upgrade the parts as needed, and save your money for a few extra barrels, bolt parts, mags and lots of Norc yellow box.

I voted Noveske. And would place KAC a close second.

I own both and the Noveske has better fit and finish then KAC.

KAC probably beats the Noveske in Durability with the E3 bolt but Noveske has the way better barrel.
