Gun storage solutions - New Product Released at Post 189

Can someone using the Rifle Rods with the Costco safe confirm that the Expansion Kit is sufficient and the fabric in the Starter Kit is not required for them to stick properly?

I am confirming that the expansion pack works on the Costco safe. The carpet in there is good enough that you don't need the Velcro liner

I have questions on storage ... you have no visible trigger locks or cables .... many loaded magazines and all in one cabinet ... is that legal storage. I am always worried about the gestapo storming into my home and looking at storage non compliances. I have noted the prosecutions of others for this stupid set of rules that are ambiguous on the .ca site with that official info.

The over regulation of firearms in Canada makes me paranoid. I worry more about over-zealous bureaucrats than about thieves or fire. I do want to comply, but I wonder about the subjective calls of what complies and what doesn't.

This gets asked several times a day, and truthfully you should've learned this in the safety course. Don't be surprised if you get hammered for asking.

Trigger locks or cables are not required within a safe. At all. Ammunition can be stored with them as well.

None of this is "subjective". It's clear and simple. See this and keep a copy of it:

Just a heads up, I just picked up the safe at the Oshawa Costco and I believe there are three left $299.

Here is mine before and after with the rack, mat, and shelving that came with the kit. Not shown is the lock box and extra curved shelf inert.

Damn you! Those pictures were persuasive I just picked up a bunch of pistol organizers a bunch of mag magnets and the rod starter kit.
And I don't even have a safe yet.. My theory if I buy stuff that pertains to something I don't have the wife eventually tells me to get it or the original purchase is just a waste of money!
Haha
You still have to put up with some wrath but usually it's a lot better than her finding a massive purchase on the cc by surprise ;)

I just bought a Safe threw Costcos website just about 300 bucks after taxs its just a handgun safe but its all carpeted inside it can hold up to 6 handguns .
