SKS scope/red dot rail. Where to get one?

Here is my BC Tactical Scout mount I got from Wanstalls. Taking off the original rear sight was a bit of a pain... I went with the "remove the gas tube spring and clamp down with some grips + a nut method" as seen on youtube. Also, had to dremel part of the bottom front of the scope mount, seems like my sks was a bit out of spec near the front where it mounts into. Fits great though, super solid. Going to go try it out this weekend with my Bushnell TRS-25

We have an exciting new rail coming, made in Canada by the local company MAG-WEDGE

Stock models will be black anodized,

We should have them in stock next week

looks absolutly amazing....

but the pragmitist in me has to ask:

how the hell do you clean the rifle with this thing on?

when you pull out the rear retaining pin does the scope cover have the ability to "flip up", allowing the rear cover and bolt to come out?

you will need a deflector...

About 60-70 rounds.
I replaced the TRS and moved it all the way forward, but still was getting hits on the rail AFTER the ejector mod (which clearly doesn't work so well).

I also saw some dings on the ring of the new TRS.

I would get a deflector. It kinda SUCKS that Bc tactical doesn't mention this. I emailed them but they ignored me.

A deflector will require a couple of mounting points, found on a receiver cover such as you'd use to rear mount a scope. By the time you've got a red dot, mount, cover and deflector on there, you've far surpassed the value of the gun itself :)

Hmm thanks! I might just wait and get one of the rails that canam posted.
What kind of sks? Just curious. I'm gonna try it for the first time this weekend, so ill take a half dozen shots and look for any signs of concern.

It's a Norinco, but all SKS's have a pretty wild ejection pattern from what I understand. I was surprised that it ejected that far up and forward, but there you go.

Well drifter dave, I tried the ejection mod and will be testing out the results tomorrow morning. I know you also did the mod, and it didn't quite fix your problem, but I'll let you know my results either way. Thanks for the heads up about the TRS-25. Maybe I'll just fire a clip without the scope mounted or put the rubber covers on to see if the mod worked or not before risking the TRS-25.

hell you could even put some cardboard over the TRS and look for hits...

What's troubling is that it took so many rounds to clip my first optic, so you never know.

Got back from testing out the scout mount and ejector mod. No problems! Seems to be ejecting at 2 o'clock, according to the guy I got to spot where it was launching the shells. Fired about 140 rounds.
