I have 1 with the pistol grip and spring assisted and ghost ring sights. I also have a 8.5 inch shotgun as well as one with a 18.5 inch barrel.
Now what I have found is this the 8.5 with target loads at 20 yards has a huge pattern (it's outrages) It also has problems going through a plastic bottle full of water (Target loads)
The 14 and 18.5 inch shotguns blow the same plastic bottle into little pieces at the same range. Now the Fabarm you can put a choke on it as well which makes it much better with shot it's loud to shoot. The 8.5 inch domino arms punchs you in the face when you shoot it the 14 inch Fabarm with a muzzle brake doesn't and the 18.5 inch Mossberg 590 A1 just seems to work the best for accuracy feel and durability. The Fabarm is less weight the the Domion arms and it's way smoother then both the Mossberg and Domion arms.
Now you say you want a camp gun the question is are you backpacking or car camping? If you are go with something with more capacity. If your backpacking take a Domion Arms Backpacker because it's less weight load it with a bear banger to try and scare the bear off first then a rubber slug then a real slug if that failed. Grizzly bears are the only one that don't really care about the noise were black bears run when they hear the bang (most of the time) Grizzly in the National parks get a bear banger, ruber slug, bear banger, real slug that's how they load the 18.5 Mossberg shotgun I saw them scare a bear off because it was backing up traffic and people were getting way to close. The bear didn't run until the second bear banger because it knew pain would follow if it didn't move.
If you want a cheapo camp firearm just go with a SKS it's good enough for bears if you use hunting ammo it's just as cheap as the shotguns and who cares if you beat on it's not worth much money. It's not as small as the short shotguns but it works. (I find it feels like less weight as well)
For Dlask he tends to make things to order so just call him and ask if he can make a batch or when he will get a batch of them done because they go quick...
If you live in my neck of the woods I can take the shotguns out and show you the diffrences and see what you like.
I also have a Borto Hiker 410 shotgun that I used to carry allot for bears don't under estimated the Winchested PDX1 ammo in 410 it packs a really big punch out of that 13 inch barrel it kicks you good too. (Most people that laughed at it shoot it and go wow that was impressive)
