make sure to detail strip the slide, clean everything and leave it dry. they always put oil in there when shipping and this could be causing the striker to slow down when firing.
use qtips to clean the striker channel
unusual place to have a wear point. are u sure the channel is clean? looks almost like there was a brass shaving stuck in there and caused that. if it was me i would take some fine grit sand paper (1000 grit for example) and smooth up the metal.
if its still causing issues, i would maybe change out the firing pin channel liner and the striker assembly.
(as an fyi this technicly should be done by a certified armourer, but we all know we all work on our firearms ourselves)
Thanks for the reply, however as it's a new gun I'd rather send it off for warranty than try to repair it myself.
