Shooting CZ 85 combat in IPSC

If you are using the CZ-85 for Production division, then no. The hammer has to be in the fully de-cocked position and touching the butt-end of the firing pin, with of course, a minimum trigger pull of 5lbs (2.27kg) for the first shot. This as per the IPSC handgun rulebook Appendix D4-6. Hope this helps.

The CZ 85 Combat is specifically on the approved production list.
As long as you lower the hammer down fully, you're good to go. It just needs to come to rest as lowered as the manufacturer intended.
Sosa is right in that a gun with a decocking lever is to be decocked using said lever on LAMR, even if the hammer comes to rest at half-####.

I was wondering about this as well. I have a CZ SP-01 tactical with a decocker. When I use the decocking lever the hammer comes to rest about half way. This is how I would start a round?
If I were to have a CZ with a safety, I understand that I still must start with the hammer all the way down AND the safety on? Is this correct? I read the WHOLE rule book and this info is not as clear as maybe it should be.

Here is the rule: 8.1.2.5 If a handgun has a decocking lever, that alone must be used to decock the handgun, without touching the trigger. If a handgun does not have a decocking lever, the hammer must be safely and manually lowered all the way forward (i.e. not just to a “half-#### notch” or to another similar intermediary position).

Hammer must be fully down. The safety on my cz75 will not engage unless the hammer is half or fully cocked therefore it is not possible to put the safety on if the gun is decocked. The safety is that the hammer is fully down and the long "hard" trigger pull. Even if you could engage the safety with the hammer down you are not required to do so.
the 85 is fine at half #### as that is where the decocker lowers it to. No safeties needed. Same goes for any other gun starting in the same condition (hammer down), no safeties needed. Just like you don't need to put your safeties on when moving (another common misconception)
The 85 doesn't have a decocker Slavex it is has the same sear arrangement as your Shadow. You don't start it in the half notch position in IPSC Production do you.

CZ makes a decocker model. The 85 Combat has a safety as does the 85B. The 75BD is the decocker model in the full size steel gun. The Phantum is a full size polymer decocker model.
