The sks have a lack of mounting option , i draw a drop in stock with inventor , now i need your idea to maybe improve it , the bad thing is i have no milling to build it for the moment ,limited to drawing -_-, i draw a flat top stock that will hide the gaz block of the sks , with a removable upper rail that will hold with 2 pin or more , and you can put some magpul buis or anything else . For stock it can use a mill spec ar15 tube , same for the grip , if someone is interested to build this thing i can maybe share my file , the idea is having a sks look alike a ar15 with it ergonomic ,

Something like hxxp://www.opticsplanet.com/leapers-utg-sks-tactical-quad-rail-forearm-system-w-extra-bottom-plate-mnt-hg569sa.html ?

FWIW, it's considered an ITAR product, and thus they are unable to export it... leaving us with no other option than the poor's man rail sold by CanAm for 5 times the price...

Is there anyway to put the stock adapter higher like a Troy MCS for the M-14? I know it is just a first step design, but it seems that the cheek weld wouldn't be very good for any sights.

i will try but i can't move it to high because we will unable to remove the top cover of the sks for cleaning , i will think about it , like you says it the first design

If you cant move the tube up, a stock with either an adjustable cheek riser or an add on cheek riser would work. Certianly alot better than what we have now. Only concerns when looking at it are

A: How heavy will it be. The SKS is no featherweight to begin with. Thats alot of extra metal to lug around

B: How complicated will it be to remove. If it can be removed with either no tools or VERY minimal tools it would be best. The SKS is most often fired with corrosive surplus ammo and therefore needs to be cleaned OFTEN. An overly complicated chassis will be a pain.

Good idea though... find someone to mill you a prototype. It could be very popular. Or, contact the guy who makes the Blackfeather chassis for the M-14... he has the ability and tools. Maybe you could team up or something.

I will try to make it easy to clean , the upper will be removable , and for the material in aluminum it will be lightweight ,

actual look i move the stock higher

Needs more rail. :) :)
It looks good. Have you looked at the Archangel stock design it could give you some ideas.

i update my stock , i found a ar15 grip and stock file on internet , it look better for the eye ^^, now i looking to eliminate some weight in the receiver near the trigger , i will probably ad a natch and a little button to push on the top of the receiver to retain the upper rail , after 3 days of work it look like that
