New Rugger 10-22 CLONE on the market

Jeese,, when I called and ordered one on Saturday, the guy said they had lots. Maybe Lone Ranger should get a commission for promoting all these sales:)

Be nice to get one before any potential Ruger lawsuit and halt in importation,,if that possible.

apparently A LOT of guys dont mind where it's made,,,just that it's better than the 10/22,,,Frontier is allready out of stock,,,bet ya they are going to be bringing in a bunch more now,,,i'll be on the waiting list,,,
I hope everone has the same good luck with theres...and I think a "good" gun sells its self. I can remember buying a Pietta PPS50 a while back, I loved the look of it, but I really had a lot of issues with it. I feared the RIA would be the same. Glad it wasnt. I dont like jamming guns, I get frustrated easily.

I know they didn't copy the mag, my question is why not? A flush fitting 10 rd is superior to one that has the same capacity but extends several inches below, no? Also, the BC plastic feed lip mags suck, unless this is a steel lips model?

I assume an actual Ruger rotary mag would fit. They're not ridiculously expensive.

Why should I have to pay extra for something that should have been done right the first time? Wasn't that the point of buying this one over a Ruger? :D

I suspect the 10 round rotary mag is the only part of the 10/22 that was ever truly patentable. The rest is just a variation on a blowback .22.

And it seems like 90% of the people who buy a 10/22 promptly trot out and buy a larger capacity mag for it anyway, so what's the difference?

And who only has one magazine for their .22 rifle?

You should send Browning an email about your insider knowledge on rotary mags. ;)

I'm not really a huge fan of banana mags, they get in the way for targets/bench and are bulky to carry. I can easily fit a few factory 10 rounders in my jacket pocket for hunting as well. The high cap mags are for those who want to send as many rounds down range as possible in the shortest amount of time. I guess I fall into the 10% category.

600 rounds loaded in the steel lips without having to reload is the only way to fly when the gophers are out. Reloading 600 rounds with my thumb and fingers really does suck though.

I dont know about the barrels. And i agree 100% with your post,..my last ruger was crap! Plastic, plastic ,plastic. They are not the same nice gun they use to be.

And this is why my 25-30 year old Ruger Carbine is great. The trigger guard is metal. I've replaced much of the innards with VQ, as well as the mag release, after doing the Dremel job. So. it's a plane Jane 30 year old gal, no walnut stock but TI sights, trigger job done with help.:)

mmhmm. I've been wanting a Ruger 10/22 for a very long time, but have not had any desire to buy a Ruger 10/22. I have a great distrust and dislike of plastics on my guns, especially when they are employed as a "cheapening" tactic. If the review is positive, Frontier will have an order from me.

Guess you like me never fell for a Rem Nylon 66, eh?

I got my ruger 10/22 for 245$ brand new. It was the synthetic stock. The wood stock was 269$. Also they come with the ruger 10rd rotary mag which is wayyyy better than the butler creek ones.

The butler creek ones might be reliable for you. They work in my buddies gun but jam in mine. The reason the ruger rotary mags are better is:

1. They fit flush.
2. They can be taken apart for cleaning.
3. They are more reliable (on average)
4. The construction is more durable and will take years of bouncing around in a backpack with heavy items.
5. They fit in your pocket better.

Page 14 and I still can't believe that someone cloned a Ruger 10/22. Anyone with a touch of gray in their hair will remember when Ruger was "the cheap guy" on the block and investment casting metal was looked down on.

Aw come on guys, don,t you know the new Rugers are a vast improvement over the old ones?
The plastic trigger housing is to eliminate that HUGE common and reoccurring problem of the trigger guard breaking off whenever it glanced off twigs.
The plastic fore end clamp is to take care of the insane muzzle weight that the 10/22 suffers from.
The plastic buttplate is to help absorb some of the massive recoil.
I could go on about the merits of the NEW Ruger 10/22 but what would be the point?
Is my sarcasm getting thru?
If you can find a twenty year old Ruger, buy it. Otherwise, these are probably worth a look.
