New Rugger 10-22 CLONE on the market

Page 14 and I still can't believe that someone cloned a Ruger 10/22. Anyone with a touch of gray in their hair will remember when Ruger was "the cheap guy" on the block and investment casting metal was looked down on.

I remenber that ... and buying a mint condition stainless mini 14 off a buddy for $400.
The way those rifles have gone up in price so much, I regret selling it:(

OK, I didn't see it and don't feel like digging through all the spelling, grammar and Country of origin rants so I'll just ask the OP directly: the internals are the only parts I care about in these so what are they like? You said it was superior to a 10/22 but did less than my 2012 10/22 did right out of the box with the same reliability. I want to know if the guide rod, bolt raceway, bolt, charging handle and trigger components are nicely machined and polished? A new 10/22 is quite rough in these areas so is this one better or the same? And what finish did they use on the reciever? Is the reciever dimensionally the same as a Ruger?

I would say its "par" with the older Rugers, and better than the new ones. I just finished puting through another 300 rounds. 1200 and still going strong. Reciever has a mattt finish. The dimenssions are the same. Bottom line, its only a $249 dollar gun that works very well.

ditto
would like to know if they fit into a nomad or 556r chassis.
from what i've read and heard they are identical inner workings and made of metal instead of plastic for barrel band and trigger pieces, so it should be more solid, more like an older 10/22 than newer ones.
has the older style mag release which can be replaced with a newer one anyways?

I got mine in the mail last week took it out today and shot it for the first time. After sighting in new scope at 50 yards it ran flawless with 200+ rounds hitting milk jug lids consistently. Thanks frontier for the new 22

Well I am going to order one. My stock is here and my barrel came in today. Just need the donor rifle to get the action.
I will order tomorrow if they have any left in stock

What did you think of it with the heavier wider stock ? And Glad its running as good as mine. After 1200 rounds I had to tighten the screw that holds on the front sight. A little dab of lock-tite, amd all is fine.

Who is the other vendor with inventory, looking to purchase one of these?

prarie gun trader has them for 249 with the single pinned bx25 mag in clear (steel lips).
it was 30 for shipping and 30 for taxes.

If ruger ever figures out their supply issues, the filipino 10/22s will sell for much cheaper.
I've talked to an armscor export sales rep, the wholesale price on those is surprisingly cheap

Bill Ruger was a genius. In an old pre-WW2 National Rifleman magazine, about 1939 or 1940, Bill took a Savage 99 action, bled gas from the barell and I think, took it in a tube to operate the action, the tube, replacing the spindle of the rotary mag!

I recall when Sturm, Ruger brought their first product to market - for less than US$40, the semi-auto .22LR with the 10 round mag in the handle. I owned the later heavy barrelled target model with the adjustable sights.

Over the years, they have made some lovely over and under shotguns.

When the .44 mag semi-auto rifle and the 10/22 came out, I should have scraped up the $$$ and bought one of each.

In rifles, I've owned a .30-06 full size; a .308 and a .257 Roberts, both the light weights no sights, just for scopes. I also had a No. 1 rifle in .243.

Ruger, the company, have been innovators from the very beginning. All that I have now if my 30 year old 10/22 carbine. :(

If they start bringing these in with 13" carbine contour barrels they'd sell like hotcakes. Come on Frontier, order some SBR versions.

Mine arrived today from prairiegun traders
She's a beauty
I'll take some photos tomorrow
Well put together, all steel parts, Fibre optic front sight and scope rail adapter
From my quick inspection it looks very well made, but. Looks tiny compared to even my savage mkii ii bv with heavy laminate stock and longer heavy barrel
It's a nice solid plinker or farm gun, and a great base for modding :)
