I got my confirmation from the CFO on Monday and they faxed the info and I received it Today so I don't think there is any rhyme nor reason to their shipping procedures just luck of the draw

Well my dad ordered his a week after mine and he has had it for 2 weeks already. Ohh well

ordered mine May 18
Accepted transfer May27
Sent transfer May 29
Transfer Approved June 3rd
CFO said it had been faxed back and I emailed a copy last week and even got my paper copies in the mail already.

Love the Waiting game, I am just getting itchy to start modifying it. :D

I wonder if there any rpal owners in Canada that do not own a 1911 by now! Can't be many! 3 days to ordering my second "Twin" 1911! Hope they hold out!

Got the reg. cert. last Wed. A day later (Thursday) got the Transfer notification that the reg. cert was coming, duh!

CanAm still shows waiting for approval. Give it another week of non buyer intervention to see if I'll get delivery without email/fax of reg. cert.

A heads-up on grips. I was careless and ordered "Compact" grips. For this gun you need "Full-Size". There is a difference between "compact" and "slim". :(

Unpackaged the second one today... both grip panels were broken. No big issue, I have a set of Roble Sabana grips on the way, and can use the rosewood Chip McCormic grips

that I put on the first one, if I choose. Now, THIS one, about 1,000 earlier than the one I decided to open first, is a real SWEETHEART!! (Apart from the broken grips)

Nice finish, tight fitting, smooth operating. No issues with the recoil spring plug or barrel bushing like I had on the other one.

So - THIS one will now be my "range baby" and see lots of use while I contemplate the details of what I want to do with my "project" gun!

Some FUN, EH!!!

X2 We must be special in B.C.

I got me a box of gold today from the delivery dude WOOOHOOO or at least that's what I told him was in the real heavy box he offloaded for me lol
all cleaned up these guns almost look like 2! man that's scary!!!! when I was waiting and reading how people have been ordering two and three of these deals I thought you all were NUTZ!! but when I laid it down to admire it after it was degreased all I could think of was how cool it would be if I had two to wield around and I could dress them up like twins!!!! now I am starting to sound a bit freaky but I may just have to pull the pin, how dirty is this ammo compared to most? am I gonna regret having 2000 rounds of this stuff??

I just ordered another 1000 rds with no gun. Waiting for my combo to get here!!! I've been shooting the ammo in my Kimber and 5 yr. old Norinco that has 2000 rds. through it. My new gun will have a brother when it gets here!!!!

Mine showed up with a crack in one grip. Emailed Paul at CanadaAmmo and another grip set is on its way. Problem solved in about 2 minutes! Job well done guys! Other than needing a good cleaning to get the oil/goo combo that Norinco sprays on them, this gun is 100%. Seems easier to cycle than my Para Ordnance 1911. I look forward to hitting the range with it!

I have asked a couple times about the sights on these guns but haven't seen a reply. Can anyone tell me if the sights are easily replaceable or are there going to be issues like the older Norinco guns.

Dunno if anybody responded to this... The sights on these guns are the old style...not very visible and not easy to replace. they serve...but only just. From what I understand these _are_ older Norinco guns, although otherwise the fit and finish seems to be mostly pretty good.

Hahahahahhaahaha armco has one of these guns for sale listed for $499 no ammo!!!!!!

The ad copy on the Armco site say it had 'the works' done on it by Clarence Weatherbee. It would be worth finding out what 'the works' consists of.

My Armco-tuned Norinco runs _very_ well, and is easily as good as any 1911 you could buy for $500. If you think an untuned, in-the-grease 1911 with 1000 rounds of ammo is a better deal, then you're in luck. But sooner or later CanadaAmmo will run out of those guns and a lot of people will be saying 'awww...this Norc feels like a piece of crap compared to my buddy's Ruger/Remington/S&W/Colt/STI/Whatever" and suddenly a $200 tuneup on a basic 1911 is going to look pretty good.

X2 Leaving the gun stock is not a option

My first centerfire pistol was an ARMCO Norc, and nobody who has fired it can believe it's a Norinco...

My CanAm deal finally shipped on Friday - the very day I left for work. Oh well. Hopefully CanPar doesn't just dump it on the doorstep or send it back after 2 days!

Maybe Armco should offer a discount deal on their "Norinco tune-up" once CanAm runs out of the combo deal. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a torrent of takers, lol. Trade-off some margin for volume as a way to gain prospective clientele for years to come.
