As most people know there is a lot going on with possible reclassification. The Swiss Arms PE90 is one such rifle.

The background:

When the news hit I saw a ton of WTS ads with rifles priced only a few hundred below retail. The usual explanation was "new interests, projects" etc. I don't think so. What I saw were people trying to get their money out and hoping others who only look at the EE weren't aware of the current situation. I have a few buddies who only check the EE and would have no idea about the current situation.

While complaining about some of the BS ads to some friends it came to me. A WTB ad right there stating possible reclassification to prohibited. Right amongst all the WTS stuff. I also chose to list a price that I personally would rather burn my Swiss Arms rifle than sell at. IE $500. I figured at $1000 I might get some takers, which I didn't actually want.

Anyways I've received a number of PMs regarding this. Some curious, laughing and one not so nice. Plus there is now a policy change on the EE. :p

I just wanted to post that the intent of that ad wasn't to make money or actually buy any Swiss Arms rifles (I have bought none and really didn't want to risk $500 as at this time the odds aren't in our favour). The intent was public awareness on the EE. I'm a firm believe in fighting this situation as I really don't want to lose my rifle. The more that are aware of it and frankly stuck in the same situation rather than passing the risk off to others the better chance we have.

Fight the power Epoxy !!!!!

PM me if anybody want to sell their Swiss Arms type rifle for $501

Hhaha, nice one. :HR:

If I were a billionaire I would donate a bunch of them to various First Nations groups to try and give us some political cover much like your Valmet rifles.

There are a couple adverts like that.

Of course they want the Non Restricted version. |LOL

Check to see if there are any other ads by them for shovels and PCB tubing.

I just figured most of us bought non restricted. I have my AR rifles for restricted. I like my Swiss Arms but ultimately if the AR was non restricted I'd stick with them.

Which new policy are you referring to? Doesn't appear to be any change.

Wait for it. Apparently that ad created new policy in the EE. The mods were good about it, but there was apparently some discussion regarding it.

Yup, I can confirm Epoxy7's EE Ad generated 'some discussion' for mods and admin. It resulted in an 'amendment' to the EE Rules...

I was kinda wondering about Epoxy's ad - but it makes sense now ...

Certainly he spelled out the situation - everyone's eyes wide open in that sale ...

I would of condemned - but now I commend.

Well, personally I tend to believe that the ad, like the "joke $100 P-Mag" ads by other members in this forum were not actually jokes or public info experiments. They were just what they were intended, a way to gain something out of fear mongering and paranoia.

It's easy to create a post "explaining" your intentions after you get a bunch of negative comments from the community, but it doesn't really change the initial impression one gets from such behavior.

And yet I don't really see anything wrong with the basic premise of an 'oddball' offer, particularly if you explain why.

If anything I think it's highly ethical. A buyer or seller lays out their reasoning, and offers a certain price. It's not fear mongering, just explaining the person's thinking and assumptions.

The seller or buyer reading the ad is then tipped off to do their own due diligence (if they weren't aware of the possible issue), and decide whether or not the argument, and the offer, make sense.

The moderators have worked to limit rumours in certain forums- maybe they need to post notices in the EE if possible legal changes may affect the status of firearms being bought, sold, or traded. It's easy enough to chuckle and say "buyer beware"... until you're the one who's been shafted.

So I'm curious are you mad at someone for stating a factual event and saying their willing to buy a gun if you sell it for $500? If your dumb enough to sell it to him that's your problem. People make millions everyday on snuggies I don't see why a guy can't bargain on a gun. He's trying to gain on the potential market change ie legality of gun. Ohh let me guess you never took advantage of a last years model on a car, or selling your house in a prime real estate market. Oh no

If there wasn't a looming question about reclassifying I would be into the Swiss Rifle!

I'm praying for a miracle.

Mods/Admin feel free to check my PMs to verify my intent and post the outcome of your review here. It's all there. My thoughts on the ad that ticked me off and led me to create the WTB along with my responses to PMs I received regarding the ad. Plus Fireball and Lineofsight were privy to my intentions by text before I posted that ad. The intentions were good. I can actually prove it.

Good on ya! We need to take care of our own (may draw the line at group hugs and singing Kumbaya, though...) not blatantly rip each other off.
