Hold on everyone before you jump all over this...

If it's bolt action and has a 30 round magazine, why wouldn't someone come up with a semi-auto variant that uses the same mags, nudge nudge, wink wink...

I gotcha, I really do. Maybe you're right, hopefully you're right.

But you gotta admit, you can at least understand why some people are upset.

Sure - but can you imagine if someone makes an SKS magazine conversion kit for the mags these things use? Wouldn't THAT alone make it worth it to bring these in?

I haven't followed this rifle's story, but the potential to h4x0r5 the magazine restriction loopholes are REALLY exciting if you ask me.

Actually... if you read into the comments on Facebook, it almost seems like that's EXACTLY what he's insinuating. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if these guys import 100 of these rifles (if they get approved) along with tens of thousands of bolt action designed magazines, then import the semi-auto version with 5 round pinned mags.

On semi-automatic:
This version is not. We are working on additional pieces. The bolt is spring loaded so you only have to pull it back and it will spring forward and lock

Well thank you to those who have made comments today (seriously) about the start of a long line of products. We are working on different models and actions and although we would like to launch all new products at the same time, there is a develop and approval process involved that makes that impossible. Just like the AR market is not for everyone, this version of the firearm has a home as well. We look forward to making products that appeal to all groups (in time) and continued feedback from consumers.

I can share with you that we are working on a semi-auto version but that it is not ready for sale yet and has to be classified before we are able to sell it. This is going to be a product family that has many different models including a side folder, bottom folder, different calibres, etc. This is the start of a product line, the first product, not the entire product line. These rifles will accept AK accessory rails, grips, etc from any company world wide as well.

I for one find you to be a big douche my good sir. Why would we think it would be a bolt action? It's has a freakin gas tube man of course we all thought it was semi. Get your head outta your a$$

No worries my friend. You're entitled to your own opinion.

The company backing the project did not release a picture or complete description. Everybody ran with UT assumption, I personally thought this would be a type 81 style rifle.

As far as I knew the picture and description were released at the same time.

Again, this is interesting for classification and as other have said, there's more to this venture.

Well said. Let's hope that what they're going for here.

Hmm, this wasn't what i was expecting, being bolt action and all, well ill guess i'll see what happens with the type 81!

The more I look at it, the more I say, "I'll wait for the price." I kind of like it. I'll keep my name on the pre-order list until the price comes out. If it makes sense at the price, I'll get it.

If it came with 4-5 purpose (bolt-action) built magazines I would consider buying it. heck even an ammo deal for $1000 and more than likely under…. just sayin
There must be some "method to this madness" If B/A hits market first, then come B/A proprietary magazines…then dare I say an 18.5" semi…?

some one embed this video for me please

Glad I wasn't drinking anything when I watched that, but yeah - that's what we wanted, and that's what we got. There is an upside to that rifle though, if it catches on Canadian shooters will be the most skilled shooters in the world at clearing AK malfs and changing magazines
