I am really hopping to get one without the ammo combo. I live in a location where it is difficult to ship ammo. I would end up paying double the price of the combo on shipping alone if I had to buy the ammo with the firearm.
Hey everyone I got my mosin about 2 hours ago and its really nice. I got a 1943 and there wasnt really any cosmo on it and the barrel looks amazing. Gonna give it a little strip down later and have some fun. Also the 400 rounds came in 20 rounds per box with a plastic sleeve which holds them all together. I was expecting the rounds to come wrapped in paper, so the plastic sleeves are handy when at the range to keep them upright and can be reused with rounds that come in ammo cans. Also I was VERY HAPPY to see the rifle came in a very nice camo rifle bag. It has lots of padding and compartments. Looks like the bag would cost $30-40 at local gun shops. I was expecting one of those cheesie nylon ones with no padding.

got mine just now a 43 as well, yes rounds are in cardboard boxes, mines pretty beat up, but it's probably a wargun if it's a 43... has character the bag that it came with is VERY nice.... i kinda want to get a second package deal just because of that
but, have to say it... THANK YOU SFRC i has a piece of history!

Any pictures of these rifles from buyers? I'm also on the fence as I just bought 1700 rounds ofr 7.62 from SFRC
Stock is a little beat up but what you would expect. Cleaning rod is bent pretty bad and my bore is dark & rusty. This is just a cursory glance. Trigger feels good and bolt is nice and tight. I'll have to see how that bore cleans up but looks pretty rusty bad right now.
Ammo is Chinese Light ball Plant 61, 1967 Vintage and very well packaged in plastic holders.
Gun came well packaged and the case is great.

Like the pictures above, mine is a Izhevsk (Soviet Union) build 1943. I like the CADPAT rifle case by parklands. Everything else seems pretty decent but I haven't had a look down the bore yet. Probably this Friday I'll go to the range and see how it does!
