In the new #8 rules, I also notice:
All pictures posted must be the original pictures of the items owned by the sellers.

If one were to sell an item that Chris Costa uses, would the seller be allowed to include a picture of Chris Costa holding a copy of the item?

I don't quite understand the purpose of this particular part of the new rule.

^^ That's the only part to me that makes sense. They want the owners to take pictures of THEIR item, not a generic one off google. Shows proof that you actually have the item, and helps show the condition of that item.

So what if you want to showcase what the item looks like when it's mounted on your gun? If you don't actually own the gun anymore but have an item for it for sale? It's not giving small time sellers equal rights at all.

Then I would imagine you post a picture of the item you own, then below post a picture of the item on a gun and say for reference only. If you are not allowed to do that then that is kind of lame. I think they are more aiming at people just taking all their pictures off google.

As Epoxy has indicated (and has been previously pointed out in other threads), since the RCMP has already issued a ruling (in writing) - how is this an unsubstantiated rumour? It's hard to imagine how EE ads could influence any decision one way or the other seeing as how they've already made their determination.

And in terms of caveat emptor, we sure seem to be doing a good job locking and/or otherwise deleting threads which might otherwise allow people to educate themselves.

Well said on both counts!

X2 well said Blaxsun

Responsible firearm ownership doesn't end at how we conduct ourselves in the use if our firearms but also in the way we are willing to treat each other. No wonder the government treats us all like criminals when so many are prepared to potentially rip off another firearm owner.

I don't think there would have been a problem with Epoxy's ad had he just offered $500 but the reference to the reclassification was the problem. It's up to prospective sellers to either reply and haggle, ignore, or reply with "go pound sand" which by the way is a waste of keystrokes. People can ask for or offer anything they want for any item they want and it is up to us to not buy or sell for that price to keep them in check. People that pay $50 or more for a pmag and $2000 for a KSG are the problem not the greasy douche that asks those prices. If you pay that much you have just created the market for them at that price and you can blame yourself. Do you really think a pmag is worth that much just because they are getting harder to find? They are nice but they don't seem to feed any differently than my GI style mags. I don't need to trust my life to my rifle so I'll just buy whatever is cheapest rather than fall for the frenzy hype and pay ridiculous amounts.

Yes it has been ruled on and it is up to the importers to prove them wrong so I guess there really wasn't anything wrong with the rest of the ad either. I have been thinking of doing a similar ad with pmags and offering to sell some for $100 knowing only a fool would pay that much. I was going to put in the ad that I payed $21.99 for it last week and that the price was now $100 firm plus shipping. It's done to make a point of how silly people are getting.

As for the comments of it being required to mention the pending reclassification I'm not sure we need rules like that. A buyer should do some research prior to buying but morally one would hope most of us would divulge that info without being told we have to. We all seem to hate being told what to do and hate living in the nanny state but then when it's to our advantage we want rules to protect us from ourselves. If you are interested in a rifle it makes sense to do some research and find out all you can prior to purchase rather than just saying that looks pretty and then dropping $3500 on the table.

Let's all try to use some common sense and some courtesy on the EE and things should be fine without the mods having to make new rules every week.

Anyone want to buy my classic green flat top with 9 mags for $3500? ;)
There is the slightest chance it may become prohibited in the next little while but with a little luck and an act of God we may get to keep them.

Gouger. ;) Just make sure you include a photo of the actual PMAGs, because we apparently don't know what PMAGs look like - and there could be some confusing in using a stock image... (even though the ad does say "PMAG").

I paid $11.99 for mine.

Would you entertain a trade for a maybe-prohibited (and temporarily nixed) Kriss Super-V? ;)

Wouldn't be more ethical for CGN to not allow EE adds for firearms under review rather than allow said adds with BS reasons for selling.

This place makes no sense.

Hey now. If I'm really lucky I might get one in time to dump a mag or two through it before having to weld it up.... Unfortunately the gentleman I spoke to assured me this will all just blow over, and was slightly offended that I didn't want his SA at full retail....... :(

Just think of the money you could make on those ones ;) An actual picture of the exact mag will get you 5% more and a faster sale because then the buyer knows exactly what he's getting.

Just sold my NR super V when I got the Swiss. I guess the only rifles that are safe for now are the AR's. I picked up a matching PWS lower for that 300BLK upper I got from you :D
Also found a PWS MK112 in FDE I couldn't say no to. Thanks to you I got rid of my other AR's and only have the two PWS ones now. They are awesome rifles.
