Well I've seen them in pics, I've seen them on the EE for sale "at highly inflated prices". Now everyone has them for sale for $599.00. But I never got to actually hold and shoot one... until today. I was left wanting....not for the gun,..is this it ? Tiny little plastic gun. Holy man, I was expecting soo much more. All the hype, hard to find, hudge price, I felt like everyone was chasing the Holy grail. This is a $250 dollar gun hands down LOL. I cant believe I waited months to try and buy one LOL. If you own one ..enjoy it,..fun compact camping gun.

Lol. I just sold mine. And all I'll is that I'll never own anoher kel-tec again. Their novelty guns. Kel-Tec has some cool ideas, but the quality is piss poor at best.

Many many years ago I had one of 12 Keltec sub Sub 9 folders in Non restricted (Movie gun from First Wave). I really liked the gun, it took Smith and Wesson magazines and was very reliable. I sold it for $1800.00 as they were a bit of a novelty back in the day. I now have a Sub 2000, Yes it has a cheapish feel to it compared to the steel Sub 9, but I wanted a gun that took cheap 9mm rounds and was compact, I am not expecting a high end gun, just something that is cheap and will accompany my family and I on road trips...this fits the bill. You want custom, you pay for custom...until then there is Keltec. I wish my Sub 2000 took Smith mags but I had to settle for Beretta.

They are fun little toys. But that is all that they are. That is not a knock on the Sub2k, but potential buyers need to understand what they are getting into.

How many times do we need to read this crap?
You don't think it's worth $600? Don't buy one. What else can you buy for hat price that is remotely close to this in function and is non restricted?
Mine has been very reliable. Takes the same mags as my Glock pistol, legally holds 10 rounds in the bush, folds up into a backpack, is accurate. What's not to like?

Do you expect it to be all metal? Do you want it to weigh 8 pounds?
In case you haven't noticed many manufacturers are going to polymers where steel isn't needed for strength. It's called modern manufacturing and doesn't make them cheap, and is why it costs $600 instead of $1000 like it's closest competition.

Want one at US prices? Try importing one then enjoy your restricted rifle that after import fees cost you the same as it would have cost here.

Don't like them? Don't buy one.
If you bought one and don't like it, it's your own fault for buying one without ever handling one. Just sell it on the EE for what you paid and move on.
Quit crying and let the people that do like them enjoy them.

A little cranky tonight LOL ? I'm happy for you and all the others who own the Sub. It has its place. Lighten up and enjoy life. Its just not for me personaly, and that was my own opinion. Now you have expressed yours. All is good.

No one was crying. Just expressing their opinion. Honestly, I did enjoy shooting it. It's accurate, and I never had a single hiccup. But it didn't feel durable and just gave me the feeling that it wasn't going to hold up to the test of time. I want to buy guns that I'd be able to pass on to my children one day. I didn't like the paper thin barrel, plastic sights, the flimsy pistol grip, or the plastic feeding ramp. I would like to see one with a aluminum receiver, at the very least a thicker polymer. I'd like to see Kel-tec step up in quality because they do have some very unique and cool firearms.

I sold mine after firing only 11 rounds because I just could not stomach how cheap it felt or how nasty the factory sights are. I purchased it new in the box but second hand, thus no factory warranty...this also scared me as I've seen plenty of cases on the keltec forum where they break in half. Same reason I would never buy a second hand SU-16, all the broken plastic receivers. I want an RFB in the worst way but no chance will I pay the price for one they command. I bought the S2K without over seeing one in person, I will no longer make that mistake again with an "unknown to me" firearm.

I can't say I didn't feel the same the first couple of times out. Now, a couple thousand rounds in, I can't imagine what would ever break or fail for that matter. Great gun. All around.

Got mine today :)

its not pretty but for a backpack gun, am pretty happy with it.

It does what it needs to do :yingyang: , and being non-restricted it does it where it needs to...

This being Canada, I'm not anyway sure there are many semi-automatic pistol carbines that can be had for under $600, restricted or otherwise.

My only issue with Keltec in Canada is why don't we get the lifetime warranty? One year is total BS when our cousins down south get a lifetime warranty.

I have a gen 2 RFB (bought it new) and would have paid $3000 for it. It is worth every penny in my opinion. Great build quality, has been 100% reliable other than when starved for gas after switching ammo. It's no sniper rifle but it was never designed to be and it shoots tight enough groups to hit cans at 100yds and drop deer in the fall.
I've never heard of a Sub2000 breaking in half, I'm sure it's possible if you treat it like an ape with a stick and bash it around like a dummy but if you treat it like a rifle should be treated (not a battle rifle in the trenches) I can't see it having problems.

Not cranky, just sick of the same old posts over and over from people saying it's not worth $600 and they don't like the sights. Try doing a little research before you buy something so you know what your getting before you throw down your cash. $600 is nothing and for me this little carbine has paid itself off in the fun I've had with it riding around on the quad unloading 10 round mags in the bush. If you have unrealistic expectations you will always be let down.
Since the stores still can't keep them on the shelves I guess they are worth $600 and the sights may not be the best but they work well enough to hit pretty much anything you point it at within 100yds. What else do they need to do? It's a 9mm, it only needs to be able to shoot to 100yds and it's awesome at 50yds. If you want better sights and more steel instead of polymer it's gonna raise the price and the weight. If you don't care about it folding throw a quadrail on it and a red dot.
Everyone I've let shoot mine has had a huge grin on their face afterward and has burned through more of my ammo than I intended to let them go through in such a short amount of time.

It does exactly what it was designed to do and more. If you buy it expecting to get a non restricted AR-15 in 9mm then of course you will be dissappointed.
It's the same as the guys that buy the RFB and then say for $2400 it should be sub MOA with any ammo. That's just rediculous. A chrome lined barrel in a semi auto battle rifle carbine bullpup package is never going to be sub MOA. You want sub MOA from a semi auto 308 buy a $3000 AR-10 or spend a fortune on a Springfield and send it to a gunsmith for tuning.

Warranty should also be transferrable. Makes no sense not to be. Rifle is still their rifle no matter who owns it or who's name is on the receipt.
They have been very good from what I've heard with taking care of any problems owners have had other than the crooked sights some have had.

Well what about the Ruger 10/22 take down ? Its only $379 and it Feels a whole lot sturdier. It folds, can hold 25 rounds , its the same idea. I got the chance to handle one a while back and really liked it. The price was very fair I thought. If I was buying a folder back pack gun, it would be the Ruger. As a plinker..way cheaper to shoot. 500 rounds for $28 bucks... as apossed to $140 bucks.
