Just wondering, if these rifles are able to be produced/imported, what are the chances of them being reasonably priced? Like $2000 or less?

It's awesome that we are getting so many new non-restricted .308 black guns but is it just me or are the prices freaking ridiculous? I mean, people are advertising $1000 AR-15s for christ sakes. Yes, I know, the AR patent has expired and there are years of experience with the rifle... but $2000 extra per unit levels of experience? I don't think so.

The SG 542 is a long ways off. We havent got pricing in yet; but do aim to keep them less in price than .223 cal Swiss Arms if possible.

Keep in mind that most stores will go through FN Sports for them, and they cost much more than $2800 from FN.

Primary distribution still goes through R.Nicholls/FN, but SAN still sells direct, if you know who to ask.

Not sure where you're getting your $ figures from, but know that you still see retailers selling the basic Swiss Arms in the range of $3300 to $3500. If the cost went up to 'much more' than $2800, no one would carry them anymore.

I'm getting my figures from FN Sports dealer pricing books.

I figured as much, but that book should be taken with a grain of salt. There was only one thing that happened when R.Nicholls/FN got a hold of distribution rights... prices rose.

I asked SAN (luckily they know English, because I do not know Swiss-German) if they had increased their prices year over year 2009/10/11, and guess what their answer was...

Yup, I agree and I know exactly what you're talking about. My point was don't blame the retailer because the distributor changed and the new distributor raised the prices.

You have got to be kidding... that mess is spreading? The 540 series predates the 550 series in design as far as I could figure out.
