1) New 10/22
2) Shoot 1200 rounds of cheap 555 Winchester with great succes..
3) Change the hammer and extractor for Volquartsen's parts, just to lighten the trigger pull and garentee a good extraction
4) Major cleaning and lubeing..
5) Go to the range and suffer major stovepiping problem now

Tests on stock Ruger rotationary mag 10 rounds

Mag 1 : 3 failure to feed , 1 failure to eject
Mag 2 : Flawless shooting
Mag 3 : 3 failure to eject
Mag 4 : Flawless
Mag 5 : 3 failure to eject

The same mag can produce many failure to eject.. as well as 10 rounds shooting in a row flawlessly

What are your guess at this point ? I dont want to change ammo brand since it was great before "upgrading" ..

I have a feeling that my bolt couuld have a hard time getting back far enough with volq tuffer spring.

Put the factory hammer spring , & the factory extractor back in. Try that. I've always used factory hammer springs when changing out the hammer.

Cycle the hammer by hand with the trigger group out of the rifle to feel for extra resistance or binding. Is the VQ hammer spring heavier or lighter than stock? I always thought they were lighter but could be wrong. Sometimes the hammer spring strut can use a polishing and you can feel the difference when cycling the action.

Maybe you should put stock parts back in to see if the gun doesn't like the after market parts .
Different springs and extractors changes the balancing act of it all.
Rimfires are fussy for brands of ammo as well.
My stock 10/22 eats anything with any mag i use,
but my Mossberg 715T only likes Federal bulk.
Doesn't like the Win 555's.
Have you cleaned the chamber?
I have seen many stock rimfire rifles and pistols work great until
guys thought they needed to make it run better with after market parts,
but to each their own.
Hope this helps.

The volq hammer spring will be stiffer for less weak strikes. I used the factory spring and had no issues.

Also used the factory spring with the extractor and again no issues... Can almost gaurantee this is the issue In your case.

thank you for your input.. all of you.

I am ready to bet its the VQ hammer/extractor springs..
i will put the old ones back and go try it as soon as i can set foot at the range.

Never changed it on my other 10/22 and never had that problem.. and off course i did not taught of that for this other Ruger.

i bet on the hammer spring being the cause!
once again, thank you CGNers!

Change the parts back. If the problem goes away then you know it is one of the things you changed. To find out for sure you can then change them back one at a time to see which one is the problem.

The bin, the bin, don't forget the bin..............
Soooooo many wonderful old shooters out there that shoot the
"Short", "Long" and "Long Rifle" for pennies a round with class,
accuracy and devastating charm.
Keep the 10-22's employed me lads.
