So I have been slowly working up a load for my 257 wby vanguard s2 using IMR 7828 and barnes 100 grn ttsx. Just wondering if anyone else has used this combination and what they have found to be maximum load. I started at 70.5 grns and slowly (6 test batches) worked my way up to 72.8 which I found very accurate in testing. It is a hot load, cci primers slightly flattened, some butt polishing on brass...bolt lifts no tighter than the rounds chamber (a little stiff, but not bad).
I am also waiting for a reply from barnes on this as I did not find exact load data for this combination, maybe should have emailed before I began loading?? Working off a combination of data with minimums around 70 grains, and maximums at 72-73 grains...
Any thoughts/criticism?
Somewhat new to reloading so any input is appreciated...Thanks.
