9MM and 38 Special Bullets with TiteGroup Powder - Advise Required

Dont use plated bullets if you are loading full power loads for the 357, altho Campro is a good choice if you have to use plated. For full power loads you may require a heavy crimp and a heavy roll crimp can cut thru the plating of the bullet causing separation as the bullet exits the cylinder. That doesnt feel good at all as you can small shards of copper plating in your hand and face. If you are shooting at a range with an open firing point be careful not to shoot beside somebody else until you know your loads are safe and not comprimised with the crimp. You will be fine with average 38Spl loads but its where the magnum velocities come into play that the problems can surface. Plated bullet manufacturers will also state that on their websites, cautioning you if using magnum calibers.

Ii you look at his OAL it's not that short for a 9mm thus reducing pressure.

Its quite a long OAL for 9mm (I used 1.16 actually), but it is also quite a bit a above the listed maxes in my books. I assume he has checked his cases for pressure signs though and they are all fine. It's pretty much a 9mm major load. Nice to hear the bullets are staying together with that load though :D

holy that's a peppy load for 147gr, mine is 3.2gr and I was debating seeing what 3.1 and 3.0 make over the chrono. Are you replicating self defense/duty loads for practice?

I went back to confirm my load data and what I stated earlier was incorrect.
My load data for the 147gr is 3.2gr of Titegroup at an OAL of 1.105"
