Of course I had all winter to get this all done, but what fun would that be? I still have a couple hundred rounds loaded from last year that I can use for practices, but I am coming down to the wire to get this years competition ammo loaded. So far I have all my bullets moly coated. I have 1000 Lapua cases, resized, trimmed, weight sorted and primed all sitting in MTM 50 boxes. Now comes the tedious part of throwing and weighing every charge to within .02 gr and seating the bullets.

If any new reloaders in SW Ontario would like some lessons on how to do this please let me know. You can come to my house, use my press and scale. I will provide the powder, bullets and show you how to be anal about weighing powder and seating bullets. Free beer when you are done. This offer does not apply to anyone I compete against.

Any way to automate some of the functions?

There's the problem, of course. Throw 'em and be done with it.

(If you're *really*, *really* worried about things, you could weigh charges for your 1000y ammo, but even so it is surprising just how well a good load with thrown charges will shoot at long range).

ya it all takes time, get an automatic trickler? Also if i had powder to reload with id be sitting there at my bench too, but for now im out of varget and bullets.

If yer lookin' fer sympathy, it's in the dictionary 'tween #### and syphyllis .....

Try casting/sizing/lubing several hundred bullets of different calibres and weights. I did a four hour session yesterday with a break for lunch in between. Been raining for two days straight, the perfect weather for it. I hate doing it on bright, sunny days when I prefer to be sending them down range.

I love reloading!!

I reload a hundred at a time. I find my lee Auto Disk Pro is very accurate, throws em to .01 of a grain accuracy even with flake powders. But yeah I still have to pull the lever a thousand times to load a thousand rounds!!

It takes time that's for sure!!

Typo?!? Either that or the scale you are using to measure that with is broken.

I might have to look into an RCBS Chargemaster but that won't stop me from weighing every charge after it comes off the Chargemaster, with my Acculab VIC 123. I keep hearing that thrown charges will work OK for under 600 yards, but I like to keep my ammo in such a way that any MTM box I grab will shoot accurately out to 1000. Showing up on the 900m firing line with ammo that works at the short range just might not be the ticket. I like to make it so everything works for all ranges.

Tried a Dillon, not accurate enough for Varget powder. +/- .5 gr works out to a 1 gr difference. This would equal about 10 inches of elevation at 1000 yards. While I miht lose point to the wind I absolutely hate losing points to elevation.

I have an electronic trickler, it almost doubles the time to load 50 rounds. I use the finger pinch method that works much faster for me.

Loading ammo is all part of the mental preparation of shooting a match. I try to make the very best ammo that I can so the ammo is not in question during a match. Anything else, I have a sit down at the end of the day with the team Captian ( Captain Morgan) and sort things out for the next day.
