your fav. AR folding rear sight

DILLIGAF, nice USMC sight. Yes, I know about all the controversy and don't need a lecture from anyone. It's still a nice and rare sight. I have the KAC 200-600m (non micro) flip sights. The small aperture is great for 300 yard plates. I won't even consider using anything but KAC now. My ARMS 40 is a pretty good piece too but currently resides in the parts bin. It wasn't the correct sight for the clone I built.

Why the Troy over the KAC ? Would much rather have a adjustable elevation and windage over windage only

The RCMP selected the Troy Industries folding sight, for its new patrol carbine sight...

And lots of cansofcom guys run mbus...... Which speaks volumes over the rcmp. Aka police.....

Just say'n....

Also, mbus performed better in drop tests than the troys. Info is on the web.

Gen 2 mbus and save the 100+ for something else that matters. Like more mags.

I'd still hoard my pennies for another KAC BUIS. Or use the other ARMS sight I have in a pinch. I agree though. There are other things that are more beneficial to spend your money on. Half the SF rifles over seas don't even have flip up sights on them... Just Google Images M4A1, MK18, CQBR, etc and you'll see what I mean.

How does the MBUS handle minus 40 and being dropped? How does MBUS handle high heat or high torque(not that its needed when mounting)? I'll stick with Troy thanks. Plasic threads strip rather easily and don't take temp extremes worth a pinch.

about as good as a glock does and mine have a steel nut no plastic threads

Again, it beats the troy in drop tests.
"plastic" is fine in those temperatures as well. This isn't red beer cup plastic we're talking about. It's the same plastic used on other magpul parts that every operator the world over relys on ;)

I mean, if it's good enough for our SF working both in our artic, as well as Afghanistan, it's fine for your safe queen......

Not saying anything bad about troy, at all, but your opinion on reinforced polymer might be a little misplaced. Grips, pmags, g36's, glocks, all stocks, handguards, hk's, etc.... All don't shatter when dropped in the winter. Composite technology has come a long way.

And this is a guy who loves metal, spent a year studying metallurgy. And makes combat knives for heavy use.

I just understand how good those mbus actually are, especially for the price.
