i had no idea what MLP was and where the avatar picture came from. now i MUST see the finished product harbl ends up with! so according to some i am now a danger to children?

This seems like it is catching on, there is a Military group that is all over the MLP cartoons and wear the morale patches too!

There's a new insignia showing up on the sleeves of a small group of military men, but instead of denoting rank, it advertises their love for a cartoon inspired by the girlish 1980s plastic toy called "My Little Pony."

So-called "Bronies," adult men who are fans of the TV show "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic," have apparently been around at least since 2010, when the Hasbro-owned cartoon first aired. Within their ranks are "Military Bronies," service members from all branches of the military who share their love of the show and wear the "cutie mark" -- a Rainbow Dash patch on their uniforms, Army Times first reported.

Any parent......has had to watch cartoons like these, my child, it was Barney, Tellitubbies, Power Rangers, Pokeman, Winx Club and to spend quality time, well they want to see that your watching and they may ask you questions about the show too. My child used to drag me out of bed to watch the Faires of Winx Club....I think I ended up watching the entire series twice. MLP was the only one that didn't get watched.

I think it will take more than a liking for MLP to make you dangerous around children

You have serious mental issues and parents should be warned if you live in their neighbourhood.

Really? Holy crap there are a lot of closed minded people on this forum. If dude wants to watch and talk about a kids show, in what universe does that have ANY affect on you?

There's lots of people out there that would say that parents should be warned about you because you own guns.

Seems like an appropriate time to remention this article:

In today’s gun culture, there are many more women, a broader mix of races and a wider range of backgrounds. Instead of being a clean cut poster child of the 1950’s many gun owners are bikers or body art enthusiasts covered with tattoos. Others are fashion conscious while others still are computer nerds. Members of the new gun generation range in age from teens to retirees.

The point is, our culture has changed. And, it has changed for the better. We attract all kinds of people into the gun world because all of the lies about us are easily disproven now that the mass media no longer has control over what people know. The internet has allowed the truth about firearms to get out.

Thats fine...I am covered in tattoos...

Comparing tattoo'd and pierced people with an adult who LOVES little girl shows...LITTLE different.

The funniest part is that other than threads that have been around for a week or more, this things view counts are through the roof! Maybe this forum is a haven for closet bronies.

Whoa... This thread did take off. There's about 760 posts about bronyism in the My Little Pony thread in the Lounge forum... I just wanted to know how I could get custom my little pony 1911 grips (problem solved).

I will say I'm normally a Glock shooter, but this year feels like a .45 year and a 1911 year.

As a shooter and as a general life principal, I believe communities arranged through mutual voluntary acceptance of others are much more resilient and capable of so much more than communities arranged by necessity. Furthermore, relationships formed in voluntarism based communities are much more fulfilling, rewarding, gratifying, and intimate than those that are formed through a perceived necessity of protection through association.

I think oneofthe most disgusting aspect of gun culture is the "them vs us" mentality that arises from the broken, hyper partisan, political system that drives people apart and thrives on divisive cherry picking of individual values and the selective use of force to exacerbate such divisions.

It's a dated and failed notion that "they" are out to get me, so I must align myself with a disassociated group of others with whom I share a shallow, superficial relationship because of an absurd belief that if I don't, another, bigger such group will come along and trounce on me and everything I hold dear.

This is a snake eating its own tail paradox, because the more divided, and segregated groups become - the greater the hostility between the segregated groups, the greater the negative consequences between the two feuding sides.

The bitter irony is that can all be avoided simply by striving to make friends instead of enemies. Coming together in a spirit of harmony, instead of a spirit of hatred - and I think that is why I'm such a big fan of MLP to the point of putting Pony grips on my guns. If you know anything about the show, you'll know that is the entire theme of the show. Not to be nice, or to go along to get along - but to make friends.

I take LOTS of folks shooting, including and especially people who don't fit the mold of either your typical gun owner, or people with whom I have nothing in common and who are polar opposites to me (those in particular are the ones I enjoy introducing to shooting).

Shooting is a great opportunity to make friends and build relationships - and having a small number of friends is of way more value than having a large group of acquaintances with one thing in common, who say they will vote the way you will in the next election.

Blah blah blah...I do not care who joins the shooting sports, the more the better...I just don't want someone who is obsessed with a children's show for their own weird fulfillment anywhere around me or my family.

Wow. That's all I can say. So a guy wants to put cutesy pictures on his 1911 and he's a freak? But at the same time, if you dress in tacticool gear with face paint and run around playing like you're Rambo with your AR it's cool? Which one do you really think scares the general population more? Theres a lot of intolerance here. Harbl seems to be one of the "ballsier" guys on here. He wants the grips and doesn't give a flying f*** what you think. Most of the people on this planet are just sheep, not many have the guts to just do what they want. I think that freaks the sheep out a little......

So stay home then. Everytime you take your family out in public you're exposing them to people who have done far worse things than watch cartoons. I don't really get the attraction to the show but so what? Doesn't mean #*+@. Anyway, enjoy being terrified of childrens shows.

PS anyone know how the photos install in the clear grips? Just curious.

this from a guy that JUST started a "which gun for the end of society" thread in the wilderness survival and disaster prep forums.

Talk about looking like a nut job....ill take the guy that likes ponies around my kids over end-of-days crackpots ANY day.

I think the parallels between MLP fandom and pedophilia are rude and outrageous. One is a man that likes a show made to be enjoyed by adults and children, and written accordingly (ok, I've never seen the show, but apparently that's the case), and one is a person that victimizes children for psychological and ###ual gratification. Absolutely un-acceptable to equate the two to each other, just as it is wrong to equate homo-###uality to pedophilia. It isn't to say that it couldn't be the case, but you are basing a case to make a man out to be a monster, on his obsession with a show. Are star wars freeks to be included? GI joe? Trekkies? How about Inspector gadget? Oh wait, is it because there is no violence that it offends? So men must love violence, and women should comb dolls hair, and stay in the kitchen? BULL####.

My wife is fit, hot, and cool. She likes horses, yes, but she likes guns, stereos, hard rock, video games, and never cared for dolls. She is a strong person that never cared for the stereo type society wanted her to fit into, and she is a successful vet, and still hates barbies, and cooking. Why does Harbl have to fit your stereo type? Now I know Harbl doesn't need me to fight his battles, he's quite capable, and frankly, probably laughs his head off at the discomfort some of you have over his Bronie BS, but give it a break already, so he likes MLP, who cares? Now I don't agree with Harbl on some things, and that's fine, but I sure as hell wouldn't accuse any of you of being a pedo without evidence of it, and I think the sensible thing to do, for a thinking gentleman, is to edit such comments out voluntarily.

If it turns out anyone is a pedo, I will lead the mob to their door with a torch, but until then, chill the f#ck out already. If you go on statistics, they are already taking care of your kids, and you think they are outstanding people, with no sign of their inner monster. After all, why would they want to look like freaks, better that they look like coaches, priests, entertainers and counselors...

This is as good as it gets guys, read this. Well done.

What do think about all the people who don't have guns that think because you do that you must be a killer or something like that? Who gives a crap if someone wants to put MLP pictures on this guns, that is his or her buisiness not yours or mine. If you do not like hearing about it then don't read it.

Remember guys when they used to burn people at the stake because they thought they were witches? Are we going back to that time because we don't like what they do or understand why they are doing it?
