What would be the approximate value of the C series Browning Hi Power 9mm made in 1977 in such condition?
























I was looking at some American trading websites, but would like to hear your opinion as well. Thanks!

I think 8-900 would be a good price for a MkI, nothing overly unique about it, but it's in beautiful condition, if it had the round hammer it would be worth a little more.

Thank You. I agree. It's a base, forged model with no frills as far as I know.
Basing on the research that I did on the American websites I concluded that anything between $800 and $1000 would be probably a fair bet.
I wasn't far off as I can see.

If I was selling it I'd put it up for $1000 and see what kind of offers I got.
 
I don't collect them. I would pay up to $700 for that one. It doesn't surprise me that some would pay more.

(If that wasn't enough I'd wait for the next one, which might be not as nice, but sooner or later one would come along that is good enough for me. I got mine for $650, if I recall correctly, and I think it's as nice but assembled in Portugal so I know that's not as desirable to the collector.)
 
Thanks again. I've read many times that the BHPs from the 60's and 70's were displaying all the signs of the better fit and finish quality than the new ones.
I'm not sure if that is true or not, but certainly level of the craftsmanship back in the days was better then today...or maybe different should I say.
 
Nice clean looking gun, finish is far better than most seen for sale. Question though. When were they made with no serial no's ? Was the number photoshopped out?
 
Looks like a very clean handgun. I recently scored a hard chromed MKI that has a metal base plate on the magazine, this one looks like it has a plastic base plate. Would this be the original magazine for a MKI?
 
"...than the price of a brand new one..." Yep. Difference is where it was assembled. As daft as that sounds. Current BHP's are made in Belgium, but assembled in Portugal, last time I looked.
That one isn't exactly a collector piece, but has increased value because it was assemble in Belgium too.
Pretty thing, so it is. You'd have to find somebody willing to pay the premium for a Belgian assembled pistol.
 
I don't think that the plastic mag base plate is original. It's fairly easy fix though.
I'm going to keep this pistol for a while, but most likely it will be back on EE one day.
I'm not much of collector myself.
Who knows?
It should be worth something, so maybe a decent trade...we will see.
