Got mine today, earlier than I thought. Thanks!

============================

EDIT: Disregard my comments below, I see you already answered this question in this thread earlier:

"Yes, as required by law it states the box contains ammo in small print. LTD QTY in large print"

============================

CanPar guy comes to the door and says "This is heavy, that's a lot of bullets". I'd prefer there was NO indication on the box saying it's ammunition. I've ordered from you before (8-10 months ago maybe), and that box had no information about ammo.

I'm not complaining, it's really not a big deal (to me). Just wondering if the new labeling is now required by CanPar?

Thanks,
OverKill

It is waiting to ship. We are getting faster and faster, but still not where we want to be

well since it hasnt shipped yet maybe monday ill be tempted to add some 7.62x39 to that order : ) , ive heard some negatives about shipping through can am from others. but i wont past judgement until i try and like said little dissapointed it has taken this long , BUT if working on improving and my stuff get shipped soon , ill be happy.

Heck, mine arrived today no problem and in a reasonable amount of time. The only hitch? My wife got to the door before me and had to sign for it (while I was in the shower). She HATES my ammo hoard and let's me know about it at every opportunity.

Great buy, great service and delivery -- bad timing on arrival!!

Observation: The website pic with the ammo shows a date of 1996. The ammo I received was manufactured November 1995 (Lot 6). Anyone receive 1996 vintage?

I know its probably a very common question but I wanted to see how many guys are shooting 5.56 in a .223 chambered bolt action rifle? I want to order a few cases but am concerned with that issue.

Somebody else correct me if I'm wrong but... You need to know from the manufacturer of your rifle if it is good for 5.56. I believe 5.56 can be hotter so needs a stronger action. If you aren't sure, then I wouldn't use it without some research.

It's the reverse scenario with .308/7.62x51, where .308 is higher chamber pressure.

I think the Norinco stuff is in all calibers fairly mild stuff? With the 45 acp one member chronyed it at 800 fps. Where U.S. stuff is 900 fps+?? With the .308/ 7.62x51 I just shoot it out of my M 14's and my Ruger American .308 When I get my Norinco M4 I'm just going to shoot and not worry. With any of my bolt action guns if you can open the bolt after firing and primers aren't popped you are good to go. And of course a bolt gun is the strongest action. So OLd Milyummy I would order and enjoy. The Norinco .308 with the Ruger American with a hot barrel is 3 in. at 100 meters and 12 in. at 318 yds. So I would think the .223 will be the same??

Thanks for the input guys / girls. I'v been doing alot of reading the few days and have come to the conclusion that;

They're countless different opinions on whether or not its safe on the internet, but i'v learnt to only believe about 1/4 of the stuff on the internet haha.

You can and lots of guys do shoot this .223/5.56 norinco ammo if you're being cautious and checking for abnormalities in your action and barrel. This deals just to good to pass up and it will be great target shooting/ plinking ammo from the sounds of it. And if for some unforseen reason my future .223 bolt action savage doesn't enjoy these rounds, I can always trade them on here haha.

Cheers

You know what will happen?

Buying 1100 rounds of 5.56/.223 will give you a great excuse to buy a rifle chambered and safe for both. :D

I would just get them to ship to a UPS store, and can do a pickup at the store. Just call the store ahead of time, some places charge you a fee, and will only accept pre-arranged packages.
Canam,

Will you guys ship this with ammo marking or anything that can suggest the content on the box/packaging?

I heard that you guys don't do discreet packaging.

Please advise before I place an order.

I live in a condo, and the last thing I want is for my concierges to know what is inside the box.

Thanks

I order a case, wish I could order more.

My 1911 combo, the ammo was in discret brown box. Either way all I care is that it shows up too my door.

O.K. guys. Ruger customer support response says 7.62 X 51 can be fired in any and all M77's and Hawkeys, scout rifle and american chambered for .308. But military surplus can vary greatly in quality and consistency. Wikipedia with the .223 and 5.56 talks about current military loading of the Nato SS-109 or US M855 using longer heavier bullet then the original loading " WHICH" may produce pressures due to the shorter throat in the .223??? I am far from any kind of expert but what I read on wikipedia we are not shooting modern military Nato loads with the Norinco .223/ 5.56 ammo??

The hard primers in this ammo may not work well in your savage bolt action...you're right though, you can always sell it...if it doesn't work out for that gun then buy an AR! Or PM me, I'm close by and I'll buy it from you :)

i received my 2 crates on Friday! the crates have nice straps and the sealed tins both have openers. i opened the can and a nasty puff of air came out...CJ95 looks the same as my previous yellow box/1600crate ammo but comes in white boxes now. shipping boxes had LTD quantity cartridges on it and the canpar guy knew it was ammo. said something about the law changed and it must be printed on the box now. anyways thanks CANAM! i will be back for more later,please keep it stocked
