Just bought 4 boxes of winchester 555 22lr.. price on the shelf was 21.99 but it rang through at 3.99. Needless to say i went back and bought all the rest they had on the shelf trying not to laugh... major score i got 17 boxes total should keep the 22 going for a while. lol hahaha Might be worth checking to see if they made the same mistake at your local walmart

Pfff...at least you don't live in a hippy town and your WALYWORLD has ammo..best i can get here in hippy Guelph is Remoil and slings...pathetic!

X2. Some of you should really do your homework and realize what the profit margins Wally has on their merchandise are, I strongly believe you will be feeling like you got robbed after a shopping experience.......... they were individual boxes, nothing else to scan, price came up , man paid price. Went back for seconds as this was a good deal, if there was a mistake cashier should have noticed, but they get paid minimum wage so they don't care. So who's fault is it ? I never heard of a cashier or anyone else at wally mart calling someone back " excuse me sir, I think I overcharged you on that item as it seems to be scanning at a higher than listed price " . Most of the time I am the stooge wasting my time sitting around waiting for them to verify the price they put on their merchandise, and I don't get paid for that. I guess once in a blue moon they err in the favor of the buyer........... I don't lose any sleep over it, I just RROOOLLLBACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

x2
All of you belly achin about "price integrity" or asserting that the OP is a thief..get a grip. You're being ridiculous! IT'S FRIGGIN WALMART CORPORATION!
You know how many small businesses have to go tits-up when these vultures move in!
OP wasn't ripping off the ma 'n pa gun shop on the corner! he simply capitalised on some 'big box store' computer error, that's all..doesn't make him a thief.
Plus, any gun shop i frequent, i maintain a relationship with some of the fellows..we talk guns and trade stories about range experiences, they give me heads up on stuff i like etc....How many wallyworld employees have you done that with??
there's no way i'd ever let something like what the op experienced happen at my gun shops, or any small business/personal transaction for that matter.
"Oh, now Walmart won't sell ammo because there's no money in it"...who the f@ck cares!!
just go to your regular gun shop and support them anyways, and quit sucking on corporate teat.
Most gun shops put sales on a few times a year, and you can get good pricing on ammo anyways..which they mail flyers out to you for.

Yeah screw Walmart that's why I did it.... My god obviously if I was at pd enterprises where I get all my other gear they would have noticed.... If they didn't I would of corrected them. I got a lucky shot to turn the tables on Walmart like they have done to ppl in many countries...and I took it and ####ed them hard and m proud of it !, woooo Quit your belly achin and go get some cheap 22 lr already sheesh whiners!

So as long as its a big company it's ok to steal? I hate Walmart and maybe it wasn't stealing but bare minimum it was dishonest and it doesn't matter who it was.

So if Rogers or Bell(whichever you are with), screwed up your bill and charged you way less by accident, you would demand to pay what you think you owe?

Price on the shelf was 21.99, you knew that when you agreed to purchase. As soon as it rang through at 3.99, you knew you were getting away with a steal. Not cool, Walmart or not Walmart. There was a thread here in the past where the same thing happened at a CT, but the poster tried to point out the mistake, the cashier shrugged it off. In that case cool, because he tried to correct them. What if they accidentally shortchanged you and you didn't notice, and once realizing you didn't notice, the cashier decided to keep your money, because hey, she's poor and you look like you wouldn't miss it, you got nice shoes and everything. You'd be cool with that, right?

Society today.
We want to leave a good country for our children, but we don't think of the children we leave for our country.

Read and answer post #48..

What I would do has no bearing, it's still wrong. I probably would have walked out with the Ammo too, but I would have done so knowing I just ripped off Walmart, not trying to give myself the moral high ground because Walmart (or Bell or Rogers, or whoever) deserved to be ripped off.

This has been an interesting read.

Walmart is very much into high volume sales and making money while paying their staff near-starvation wages. If they had well trained staff who were dedicated to the company the cashier would have caught this. The store chose to place that cashier, with whatever minimal training, at that till.

What the OP described is the result of WM doctrine where the cashier is busy as hell and is trying his or her best to keep the never-ending line moving. You can bet that a loss like this is commonplace and is considered a minor occurrence by the management.

In other words it would be considered de riguer and a cost of doing business. Just that this time it happens to be ammo and not kid's underwear.

Going one step further, I don't think that the management would consider this theft and are more concerned with theft by the employees.

Looks like there will be a line up at all Walmart ammo counters tomorrow .
I for one won't be in that line .

lol and what will happen when it rings in at $21.99 I wonder, will people go through with the purchase thinking dang it!, or will they suddenly change their minds? I would issue that challenge to everyone going to Walmart, and I'll do the same if I get a chance....if the ammo rings in at the correct 21.99, follow through and purchase it.
